There is nothing in Mc Cains history that says he will decide anything appropriate except for military. That is all Mc Cain seems to vote on. OH and the Boxing vote there can't forget something so important as boxing. Forget about healthcare, forget about JOBS. He recently voted down a bill that would allow the disabled freedom to live with their parents. Instead he wants them in Nursing homes at Government expense, therefore increasing taxes.

As for those that make $250,000.00 a year. They pay the same amount of taxes as the poor man does. At least Obama would like to put those that make higher income in a higher tax bracket. Mc Cain wants to allow the rich to get away with paying as little as possible.

I don't think anyone is really calling you guys "elitists" for your economic views. It's because you act superior to anyone who dares not to agree with you. It's because you come on blogs and make fun of grammar, or the fact that people drive trucks, or live in mobile homes. You think it's funny when you do a fake southern "white-trash" dialect. You look down on people who did not spend 4 or more years living a pampered college existence funded by their parents. Elitists who believe that there is only one way, the left way, and nobody else dares to speak.

You can be world may be flat elite like Sherri Shepherd, Loud obnoxious elite, like Rosie O' Donnell, or think you witty/clever elite like Jon Stewart.

The real economic elitists, you know, like Obama's friends on San Francisco's billionaire's row, they don't pay taxes. They sit and listen to Obama and congratulate each other on how progressive and cool they are, then they run out and speed dial their accountants and attorneys to be sure they don't have to pay any more taxes.

I think the problem is that 250K people, the ones in that range, do feel like they pay the lion's share and now Obama wants more. They make the money but are not quite savvy enough to know how to work the system to get out of paying taxes. These people do fuel the economy in ways the ultra rich don't. They consume. The ultra rich take freebies, don't pay taxes and spend money on things like art and jewelry and couture clothing that really do not employ a lot of people. A "celebrity" is a good example. Everything is perked for them. If you have ever known rich people you know it's true. There is an old saying "The rich are different". I would bet my tax share right now that Madonna, Diddy and all the loud mouth Obama supporters have tax shelters. Anybody want to take that bet?


I pay my ass off in taxes, although not in that 250K bracket by a long shot (feel free to insert white trash comment here). It's frustrating, but I don't mind. I would like to see some results, some bang for the buck. I would gladly pay more to see unfortunate people be helped.

I do believe that anyone who thinks Barack Obama is going to help anybody rich or poor is really deluding themselves. Barack wants to help somebody, but his "one world" view tells him it's people in Africa or Mexico or ?. All well and good, but just know what you are getting into. I would also be wary of anyone who is going to help you, but also craves adulation. Think Cuba and you have the US under Obama. It's scary that nobody seems to mind.

I am a single mom. I have 2 college degrees, and no health insurance. I work 2 jobs,70 hours a week. I believe all human beings have a right to health care, even if they cant afford it. What an elitist snob?!

I'm John the Elitist. I have two masters degrees and earn $54,000/year. I'm in a salaried position and work an average of 45 hour/week. After paying my city, state, and federal taxes, my take home pay is approximately $600/week. From that I pay my mortgage, real estate taxes, condo fee, electric bill, phone bill, and cable.

I am sick and tired of Joe the Plumber and his cohorts whining about asking people who make more than $250,000 to pay an additional $7500 in taxes. Shut the eff up! Give me Obama's tax break! Let's be fair to the REAL middle class just once in my lifetime. No more Republican gifts to the wealthy!!

What's our fair share, Tommy the elitist?? My husband and I have spent the last thirty years working eighty hour weeks to build a business that employs 250 people, buy a home we could afford, put our daughters through college, and save a little for our eventual retirement. We, along with others in our tax bracket pay more than fifty percent of the taxes in this country. I hear about all these loopholes rich people have, but I've never found them and more than fifty percent of our earnings go to federal taxes, state taxes, and city wage taxes. When will it be enough for you people? Why did my husband and I work so hard and sacrifice so much just so you and Obama can tell us we should be punished for our hard work? Somewhere along the line, successful people became the bad guys in this country to people like you. Realizing the American Dream, building a business from scratch, hanging onto our employees when others were laying off, and donating thousands to charity every year has somehow made me an evil person to the liberals. I'm a big, bad business owner who goes to the funerals for employees' family members, sits and enjoys their pictures when they come back from vacation, knows the names of their spouses and children, and hires their teenagers when they need a summer job. But you and Obama have decided I'm the bad guy and I need to do more. I need to support more people who have decided they would rather collect a check instead of working hard to achieve success of their own. And why should they work hard when they will just be punished for it the way we are? Your plans will eventually run me out of business and when you do, I hope you can find someone to take care of my employees the way my husband and I have. You can call me Jane the Realist.

What Obama is proposing and a progressive tax are completely different animals. I agree "everyone" should pay their fair share. But last time I checked "everyone" would include more then just the upper 5% of earners in society. Explain to me how it is that only making the top 5% pay and handing out checks to the lower 40% is "FAIR SHARE". I too come from a family of hard working middle class people. I personally will feel like a total and complete loser when I receive a welfare check from Uncle Sam. When I grew up and I wanted something I couldn't afford and I cried "that's not fair" I was taught that the world isn't fair. So I was forced to earn my way to what it is that I wanted. My mother never once looked at me and said "As soon as he plays that video game TOO much, I will go take it from the neighbor and give it to you." She made get off my lazy butt and go earn it myself. Now explain to me how it is fair to take from the hard working citizens and hand it to the non-working citizens. That in my mind is not fair. Like truth, fairness lies in the eye of the beholder. So

My wife and I make over $250,000.00 a year and we are voting Obama/Biden. Until the Bush McCain years we had prospered no matter who was President. Regardless who wins next week we will do Ok but Obama/Biden reprsent a chgance for more people to share in the American Bounty. I have lost 34% of my stock holdings and most of that is IRA. I will have to continue working longer than I had planned but my house will be paid for and my children can stand on thier own two feet. Newt Gingrich once charaterized people like my wife and I has "McGoverniks". Well all I can say is we've been married 38 years, our kids got educated in public schools and then went to prestigious colleges, and we pay our taxes, mow our lawn and support our religious choices. I am proud to support Obama/Biden--they represent the best we have to offer and have so much more to give us than McCain/Palin.
