First of all, have you asked yourself why the Obama camp has not made more of an issue about Keatiing? There are two simple explanations:
1) McCain was one of the Senators found NOT guilty.
2) This is even more pertinent, making Keating an issue would draw more attention to the Dems involvement in out recent Wall Street mess. I know there's blame on both sides, but the record shows McCain identified it in 2006 and tried to do something and was SHUT OUT by the DEMOCRATS.

Press Keating and get more scrutiny on why Barack Obama was the second biggest benefactor of Fannie and Freddie!
As a Repub, I say, BRING IT ON!

As far as your bashing of Bush's record on the environment:
Do you know that the environmental laws we currently have in place go FURTHER than that of the Kyoto Treaty?

Anthropogenic global warming/climate change is a lie. Beer's Law, lab experiments and empirical data have proven that CO2 can't significantly heat the atmosphere. It's accepted that global avg. temps. rose only by ~0.7 degrees Celsius during the last century (Interestingly they fell by about the same amount in 2007 with the current global cooling trend). A slight atmospheric warming can't be the reason for Arctic sea ice melting. Most sea ice is below the sea surface, so it must be warmer oceans melting the ice, and since the atmosphere can't heat the oceans, the oceans must be warming naturally for reasons not understood. The main point is that CO2 can't heat the atmosphere significantly, and ANY plan to regulate/tax CO2 is asinine whether it comes from Obama or McCain. We've been lied to about CO2. CO2 will never catastrophically heat the atmosphere unless carbon emissions increase exponentially. Do the research and you'll see. It takes time and effort to discover the truth amidst the sea of propaganda that pervades the mass media. CO2 is an essential trace gas that makes life on Earth possible. It's not a deadly pollutant. CO2 comprises one-third of one percent of all greenhouse gases on Earth, and human contributions are a fraction of the total. CO2 absorbs about eight percent of the energy radiated back from the Earth, since CO2 only absorbs radiation in limited bandwidths. Once CO2 reaches a certain concentration in the atmosphere, it's impossible for further heating to occur, unless CO2 concentrations increase exponentially. Folks, wake up before Draconian CO2 regulation and taxation destroys what's left of this fragile economy. Democrats and Republicans are lying to us about CO2. Oppose any legislation that aims to regulate and tax carbon emissions.

In 1987, two meetings were held with Federal Regulators in Arizona Democrat Senator Dennis DeConcini’s Capitol Hill office. Five US Senators were present. Keating called McCain a "wimp" when McCain walked out of a meeting in which Senator DeConcini attempted to influence Federal Home Loan Bank Board (FHLBB) officials. Lincoln Savings and Loan was the target of a regulatory investigation. The FHLBB subsequently backed off taking action against Lincoln.

Lincoln Savings and Loan collapsed in 1989, at a cost of over $3 billion to the government. Some 23,000 Lincoln bondholders were defrauded and many elderly investors lost their life savings.

McCain and former astronaut Senator John Glenn (a Democrat) were cleared of charges and reelected. Three other Senators (all Democrats) served out their respective terms, but did not run for reelection. Is there more?


Charles Keating went to prison. He is now out and keeping a low profile. His son-in-law, Gary Hall Sr. is a former Olympic swimming champion. He previously owned Gary Hall Laser Eye Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Due to repeated infractions relating to patient care and medical record keeping, Hall, Sr. was permanently barred by the Arizona Medical Board from practicing surgery.

His grandson is Gary hall Jr. the Olympic swimmer. At last report, they were all living in Florida, where the Halls run a swim school called the Race Club.
