Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin began her national media blitz last night, telling FOX News' Greta Van Susteren that she's looking for a sign from heaven as to what to do in 2012.
"I'm like, OK, God, if there is an open door for me somewhere, this is what I always pray, I'm like, don't let me miss the open door," Palin said. "And if there is an open door in '12 or four years later, and if it is something that is going to be good for my family, for my state, for my nation, an opportunity for me, then I'll plow through that door."
Palin blamed Bush administration policies for the defeat last week of the GOP ticket. She told the Anchorage Daily News that, "it's amazing that we did as well as we did."
"I think the Republican ticket represented too much of the status quo, too much of what had gone on in these last eight years, that Americans were kind of shaking their heads like going, wait a minute, how did we run up a $10 trillion debt in a Republican administration? How have there been blunders with war strategy under a Republican administration? If we're talking change, we want to get far away from what it was that the present administration represented and that is to a great degree what the Republican Party at the time had been representing."
She also said she neither wanted nor asked for the $150,000-plus wardrobe paid for by the Republican Party, and said there was too much information about her out there the media left unchecked - including whether she or her 17-year-old daughter Bristol was the mom of her newborn, Trig.
"I'm Trig's mom (raises her hand) and do you want to see my medical records to prove that? ... And banning books. That was a ridiculous thing also that could have so easily been corrected just by a reporter taking an extra step and not basing a report on gossip or speculation. But just looking into the record. It was reported that I tried to ban Harry Potter when it hadn't even been written when I was the mayor. So, gosh, we have so many examples, I mean every day, especially the first few weeks, every day something that was thrown out there."
Although Palin could conceivably be in Washington, D.C. within a year if the Senate expels Alaska's senior U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens and she chooses to try to replace him, she told Lauer: "I'm not planning on it, because I think the people of Alaska will best be served with me as their governor."
She added: "You know, when you talk about that white-hot spotlight - that's not really attractive to me," Palin said. "Look what that white-hot spotlight does to one's family, and does to one's credibility and record and word. So that's not the attraction to me."
But she could just change her mind.
"If I can be part of a solution to help this nation ... certainly I want to be a part of a solution in those terms," she said. "But in the meantime, [I'm] going to be making sure that Alaska develops our resources so we can contribute more to the U.S. and allow our nation to be energy independent and secure and prosperous. I can do that as the governor of Alaska."
Here's part of her interview with Lauer, which includes a chat with Alaska "First Dude" Todd Palin:
Liza Porteus Viana has been a political journalist for almost 10 years, both in Washington and New York. She loves politics - the smell of it, the sport of it...more
Palin is such a stupid, ignorant , snobby, airhead bimbo.. she thinks she can just bullsh*t her way through people claiming "God's will"

After the novelty of having a black muslim president, if there is anything left of America hopefully people will want a American president again, and Palin would be perfect.
It is funny to see how scared all these racists are of Palin.

Exodus - Chapter 2, The Preparation
On the first day of Preparation, the Beloved One brought His Counselors back together. Earlier, He asked them to examine the ten most pressing issues He must address, when authority formally transferred to Him. Each issue was placed in its own, sealed envelope, lettered A thru J. After meeting with George XLIII, the Beloved One began to understand the difficulties facing Him. He decided to solve the eighth problem first. He reached for his Preparation “H.” He now understood, many more Scholars would be required to govern. He instructed His Counselors to find other loyal subjects, each with a specific field of knowledge. The Beloved One began to assemble His Circle of Advisors.

What an airhead! ------------------------------------------------------------ I heard Paul Begala give an excellent assessment of Palin on Bill Maher (love you Bill) the other night. He doesn't think she is stupid, but ignorant and ignorance can be fixed. He went on to say, however, that she is 'mean'--and after listening to her many stump speeches, I have to agree. And meanness just doesn't go away. She is more in the mold of the Bush/Cheney type of Republicans than John McCain could ever hope to be (and, hopefully, really doesn't want to be), a type that I had hoped was on its way to extinction; however, the tone of many of the posters on these blogs has proven that I am wrong about that. Yep, good ol' American 'meanness' is alive and well--so Sarah, guess there's a place for you after all.

Did she yell at someone? Did she expose some of the nasty reporters in Entertainment News for their "fair and investigative" journalism?
Look no further than Rahm Emmanual for the definition of mean. When someone sends a dead fish to another person then takes a knife and starts stabbing a table saying "dead, dead, dead" to those who oppose him...now that's a description of a mean person.

Don't mind people not liking her. Not wanting her for President. But I really wish the ugly DNC bigots against her religion would stop it. She has tremendous faith.
She's not a Bill Clinton who put on his Baptist beliefs like an old whore puts on an evening gown at midnight to walk the streets. She really does have faith.
You athiest, it's fine not to have faith. And it's time this gets said, you non Evangelicals it's fine for you to have a different faith. But why all your hate. Attack Palin on other issues, but don't breed this bigotry in America. It will backfire because hate breeds hate.

On Nov. 4 when President-elect Obama won the election with 53% of the popular vote and Songbird McCain/Miss American Pie Palin lost with 46% of the popular vote, a stanza from the song American Pie went through my mind. The 46%-McCainites were probably sitting around thinking bye bye Miss American Pie. Those good old 46%-McCainites were probably drinking whiskey and rye and singing, "this will be the day that I die, this will be the day that I die"

I don't hate Palin. I don't care what her religion is, I don't think she's "mean" (whatever that means), and I don't think that she's ignorant. What turned me off from her is her "real America" speeches, like there are real Americans and "fake" Americans. I find that incredibly polarizing - the idea that "real" Americans are the ones that cheer her, and everyone else is somehow anti-American if they don't support or agree with her views. There are some very interesting young Republicans in the party that I would gladly support - she is just not one of them.

Governor Palin...we pray you will run. We need honesty in our Gov't and someone who is not afraid to reform. You energize the people and the only reason why you lost was because people wanted to get away from Bush's party...they never realized the Democrats were more the cause for our problems. People will soon see how much of a liar Obama is, he is corrupt, bias, antisemitic, deceitful...he'll hurt the people very badly and then they'll realize...I speak for many, many people who will start now to back you for 2012. Obama will never run for a second term and if he did the people would throw him out after seeing what he really is.

I just think it's telling that the side that "won" are still trying to bury this woman.
Just like they do with Hillary Clinton.
It just goes to show that those preaching "hope/change/unity" are really about "hate/sexism/divisiveness".
That's why no one believes your empty hollow rhetoric.

The McCainites prayed that it would rain on the Democratic Convention, that did not happen. The McCainites used every vile and evil trick in the books to win, it did not work. The McCainites had ugly on their side. GOD does not like ugly and that is why the McCainites lost. I'm no fan of Palin,I don't like her stance on the issues, I disagree with her philosophy, but I don't think she's an idiot. And that argument about Alaska is "easier" to govern than any of the lower 48 states is ridiculous.
What are you basing this opinion on? Anything worthwhile or just your "feelings". Cause if it's your feelings you're basing it on it's an irrational argument at best, and pure hate speech at worst.
Just say you wanted the Democratic ticket to win and leave it at that, your personal attacks on her make you look like a ranting fool.
