Rahm Facts Take Page From Chuck Norris

Update: The creators of Rahm Facts provided this bit of correction in the comments section:
    Hey Tommy,

We're the creators of Rahm Facts - thanks for posting about us! Just for the record, our intent was definitely NOT to sour people on Rahm. We love the guy, DLC or no, and we think he's an awesome chief of staff pick. If the facts on our site made you like Rahm a little more, that is exactly what we're going for.
    I stand corrected.

There's a new website, patterned after the viral and quirky ChuckNorrisFacts.com ("If you have $5 and Chuck Norris has $5, Chuck Norris has more money than you."), called Rahm Emanuel Facts. A sampling: (h/t Ben Smith)
AFTER THE 2006 MIDTERM ELECTIONS, RAHM EMANUEL JUMPED ON A TABLE AND SAID THE REPUBLICAN PARTY "CAN GO F--- THEMSELVES"

RAHM EMANUEL ASSUMES YOU KNOW IT'S HIM CALLING.
You get the picture. I can't take the ALL CAPS anymore. They must be hiring some of our commenters there. Each fact is sourced to a published report.

Although the site purports to be an organic creation, I think the idea is to make people dislike Rahm. If so, it didn't work on me.

I was actually a little reticent about Emanuel, due to his staunch membership in the Republican-Lite DLC. The Rahm facts I've seen so far make me like him more. He sounds kinda like me, only older and with less fingers.

It has been amusing, if not at all surprising, to see the right wing try to paint Emanuel as a polarizing pick. While it is true that Emanuel's style is partisan and ruthlessly pragmatic, his political positions are decidedly centrist. Given Barack Obama's stated intent to find common ground, it makes sense that he would choose a Chief of Staff capable of holding it.
