His ties to other distant Eastern nations were strong, and mere offerings of gold and silver would be rejected. Then, He retired to His quarters, to rest and to contemplate what would be.

Ignore these men who want to dictate to all people. If their own people want to follow them, so be it.

How many Catholics follow the Church's directives on the right to choose an abortion? If they felt so passionately about banning abortion, then they should've voted for McCain, but obviously, most clear-thinking Catholics don't believe they have the right or responsibility to impose their church's beliefs on everyone, including non-catholics.

But I suppose God will smite us for allowing abortion to be legal & then he'll open the door for Sarah Palin.

I think the point was that the legislation that's being proposed would not permit them to refuse to perform abortions in Catholic run hospitals. In which case, they'd have to discontinue offering OB/GYN services to their patients.

I don't think that equates with "getting so involved in politics". It's reactive rather than proactive stance.

There is a time to love and there is time to cry and a time laugh and a time to die...or so the Wisdom of Sacred Scripture goes. Today in America it is time to fight for truth. It is time for the Bishops to live up to their holy vocation, girdle their loins, unsheath their pastural swords and start choppin'heads. The spirit of Christian meekness has given way to a spirit of timidity in the American Catholic Church and it is wrong--dead wrong. With 67 million Catholics in America, social morality and public policy wouldn't, shouldn't and couldn't be an issue...but alas, it is. The opportunistic treachery of promenient policy makers who falsely identify themselves as 'Catholic' need to be beaten and prodded and purged from the flock by the surrogate Good Shepherds. And, the errant, muddled and confused members of the Catholic community who willingly and knowingly dissent from the most fundamental teachings of Catholic morality need to leave the Church, because they are living a lie and they are toxic to the communal life of the Church. If someone perpetuates policies that snub out innocent human life, then they are by definition: NOT Catholic. It is time for the Church to say to the: KICK ROCKS!

Barack Obama has the ABSOLUTE MOST RADICAL position on abortion than any other political figure in American history. His cohorts, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are not as radical as BHO. They draw the line at late term abortions, otherwise known as partial birth abortions.
Partial birth abortions are the most violent form of abortion.
There is no reason in this world why a woman would have to have a late term abortion. If she hasn't figured out in the first 12 weeks that she is pregnant and doesn't want a baby. Then, she is some sort of mental incompetent.

Abortion is not a form of birth control. With all of the various forms of birth control, it is hard to believe that a woman would get pregnant without wanting to. If her birth control fails, for some reason, then, obviously, again, she would know and could take action.
To me, this is a no brainer. Why tick off the Catholic bishops and all faithful Catholics? Moderation had been working well. Trying to force religious based hospitals to perform abortions is over the top. It is controversy that would only open Pandora's box.
If my daughter's high school won't give her a Tylenol without a signed permission slip from me, why, in the world, could anyone think I would want her to have an abortion without my knowledge!

I am a Christian, and pro-life. However, until we, the body of Christ, the church, is able to take care of the widow and the fatherless, and fight the cause for the poor, children will die. Children die to poverty every day. Why are we not shouting of the injustice, waving the "pro-life" signs in the city streets of the poorest neighborhoods? "Don't kill these babies," some yell, and add "but don't take care of them either with government programs and spending." They rather see them born to die. "Make the mothers have the child," some yell, and then stand idly by and let the children die to the city streets, or to starvation and disease.

Sure, I detest abortion, but let us ask ourselves, what drives a woman to make such a horrid decision? Surely not merely governments allowance. I have learned that making a thing illegal doesn't stop a person from doing whatever it is that they want to do to their body. Look at this pathetic attempt at the War on Drugs. Instead of addressing the addiction and the problem, we put drug addicts in jail. That HAS NOT stopped people from doing drugs, but it has created a whole new class of criminals, one that is growing every day.

If our only solution to ending abortion is government legislation, then our only outcome is more criminals. The newest criminal will be poor and uneducated women who don't know that the love of Christ could save her and her child, and take care of them both in this life, and the life after. The newest criminal will be the rich woman who is too selfish to see her body stretch out of shape, who doesn't know the love of Christ, and know that one day she will have to answer for what she's done in the name of vanity.

I say all of that to say, Pro-life I am, but as Jesus commands Christians to preach the good news that Jesus saves, bless others, help those in need. If one doesn't hold a moral conviction for committing an abortion, then to that person, abortion is okay, and they will have an abortion with or without government permission, with or without legal implications. Abortion will be reduced and will ultimately end I believe only when we are able to figure out how to take care of the millions of poor children we already have, who don't have a "life" but are merely surviving. Healthcare reform, good family structures (both parents in the house), good adoption system, early sex education, and people ascribing to some sort of value system (hopefully Christian), is a good start to build a foundation of a future where women would not perceive abortion as an option.

This message is for those anxious Christians who do not trust God enough to know that they do not have to battle Obama's policies on the steps of Capitol Hill to do God's will on the earth. Jesus never fought with Caesar, but He did rebuke the Scribes and the Pharisees, the religious leaders of the day because even though they knew God's Law, their hearts were far from Him. Some of today's leaders are off message. They have forgotten that the mission is to win souls for Christ, and when people are saved, they change. When the people change, Government won't have to legislate morality because people will want to please God and His law would rule supreme in their hearts and in their lives.

You do not have to support Obama's abortion policy, but do your part to change the lives of at risk women who may be contemplating an abortion, because I guarantee, if abortion is illegal, it will not stop, but young women will die when they try risky measures to secretly abort their unwanted child.

People who murder other people have a severe consequence. But Jesus in his infinite wisdom and knowledge said that whoever is angry at his brother without a cause is also guilty of the same judgment as those who murder. The consequences are the same according to God. Man has set different penalties, but God does not. So we all need forgiveness from sin: the fornicator, adulterer, liar, coveter, and yes those who have murdered their unborn child.

As a Christian, I am praying that God gives our next President wisdom like King Solomon, a heart like King David, strength and courage like Joshua, and blessings like Abraham. Only God can speak to the very heart of a man and show him where he errs. We have the potential for great leadership, but we need to pray that it is God that is leading. God can use ANYBODY to bless His people. He did it over and over and over again in the Bible. God bless.

Doesn't our Constitution require separation of Church and State? Don't Churchs get tax breaks and Political Organization pay taxes? If a church endorses or implies endorsement of any politician or political issue, they are not separate and should loose their tax exempt status.
