Update: Writing one political article about Star Trek is challenging, to say the least. Caleb and I have now written four.
We had so much fun doing the first two of these that we decided to turn the premise inside-out, and populate the Star Trek universe with figures from this year's election season. With every high level appointment that R o b i n Da’ H o o d makes to his cabinet or the federal courts, the MANIPULATION and DEGRADATION of the Constitution BEGINS after 19 Jan 2009. He will walk in calmly, speaking softly "in a fatherly tone" (Media explanation of nonsense) to give the Citizens of this country comfort and a feeling of security. Yea Right. We Are In Tra-Booo. Case Law will rule, whereas the Courts will Impose Laws on We Da' People! 1443 Days Until The Concurrent and Upcoming Nightmare ENDS! From the look of the age of the actors, this movie looks less like "Star Trek" and more like "Junior Space Cadets". Couldn't they find any adults to play Kirk and Spock?

I don't know what the hell this all means. But Lenord Nimoy would be the last person Obama Picks. why is polotics bebrought into the star trek Universe anyway. this is why we all have to work together. obam asurroding himself woth poeple he trust. and quite frankly so should we. Obama is our hope. an ddon't bring up polotics in this blog ever again and I agree, this Movie better not suck.

It looks like we'll have a secon Clinton Cabinet.Most of the GUYS worked for Bill Clinton in the good old days. I didnt vote for Obama but I kinda believe we were going to have " CHANGE:. dont see it so far. And all these leaks are unforgivable: is this kind of stuff that the White House will be for the next 4 years?

The best for Homeland Security is obviously Lt. Worf from The Next Generation (the Chief of Security on the USS Enterprise-D. With Worf in charge our country would be very safe. The job of Secretary of State should obviously go to Sarek of Vulcan (Spocks father) his hundreds of years experience of diplomacy is obviously a no-brainer! The job of Attorney General is also a no-brainer: Sam Cogly who defended Captain Kirk in the Orignal Series.

These actors SUCK! The Captain Kirk character is all wrong, wrong, wrong! What made Shatner's portrayal so effective was his experience playing Alexander the great on broadway. He brought that characterization to the Kirk role, which then made Kirk into the dynamic character we came to know. This guy seems more like Tom cruise from Top Gun!
The jury is out on the Spock portrayal here. Not enough details from the clips, but the initial impression is NOT good!
I've seen every Star Trek movie, and i think every Star Trek episode from every Trek based series. I won't be seeing this until I read the reviews. A shame if they blew it! I'm hopeing they didn't.

I guess you missed the memo. Unlike Caleb Howe, I confine my discussion of Star Trek to REAL Star trek, not pretenders like TNG. Why watch that show, when they can just undo everything at the end with the holodeck or Q?
