Obama's Cabinet Full of Insiders, Rivals, and Old Clinton Staffers

SO THIS IS CHANGE!!! THE SAME OLD PEOPLE THAT'S BEEN THER FOR YEARS, DOING THE SAME OLD THING.

Dave, I am willing to bet that 50% of those who voted for Obama don't even know who Rahm Emmanuel is, let alone the rest of his cabinet appointees. They wanted "change"; unfortunately, what they got is chump change.

Most of those who voted for Obama didn't know who he REALLY was. They were gaga over an unknown whose smooth-talking ways gave them false hope. Now you are already complaining about his selections. When he constantly spoke of "change" he didn't indicate at any time what that meant because he didn't know himself. Talk is cheap, so now his supporters are realizing that.
At the same time the years prior to the Bush administration were good ones. People were much happier (less angry) as they were doing well; they had someone working for THEM. Much of the Clinton nastiness is unwarranted as there are those who only focus on the negative.
Once you hit bottom the only way to go is up & that is the only way to go now. Obama NEEDS to surroung himself with experienced intelligent people as he most certainly wouldn't have clue on how to do it on his own. You elected "hot air" & that dissipates quickly. Just get qualified individuals in these posts who are capable of getting something righted in this country that has been going down the wrong path for several years now. I'm sure that's what we all want. Do something constructive.....not just feed egos.

ACTUALLY, THOSE OF US, who voted for OBAMA knew exactly who he was. And Most of the people he is appointing, we knew before. And most of them were part of the Clinton administration, which if you recall left the US, with a $ surplus, low un-employment, and the US world wide reputation strong. As a mid-2nd term senator, Hillary Clinton can hardly be called a Washington Insider since "1st Lady" is not an elected official and contrary to popular myth, was not privy to insider, Nat'l security information. Lastly, most of the names being put forth are younger, energetic individuals (Janet Napolitano) not 80 yo codgers like most of the Republican party. We who voted for OBAMA are hardly dismayed with how is cabinet is shaping up. Like the rest of the world, we wait for the future to actually happen rather than running around like Chicken Little declaring the sky to be falling. Cluck away ye Bush years trainees, but I prefer to fly with sentient beings who think and react with intelligence. Something lacking in virtually all of Bush's administration or Cabinet appointees since 2000.

A bright new administration filled with most of the past veterans of failed policy and corrupt government that started us into this state of affairs we face today. Just how exactly does this promote any change -other than the obvious change for the worse?

What stupid comments. Obama is putting together a team he feels is best for his administration. He has selected highly intelligent people so far, and if these were part of the Clinton administration so be it. Also during the Clinton years this country was well off, the economy decent, more money in our pockets, and the USA was viewed in a positive manner world wide. So why all this bashing on the Clintons and Obama? Leave the president elect alone and let him get his team organized, take office, and then judge him on his performance. I feel this country will be headed in the right direction during the next 4 years.

If the next administration is going to be full of folks who are party regulars and past Clinton administration staffers, why did your party reject Hilary, who had actually spent 8 years in the White House in addition to her congressional experience, in favor of a less experienced candidate?

Had Hillary gotten elected, the only thing that would have been off and running come 1-20-09 would have been the GOP smear machine that has been planning since 2004 how to take Clinton down.

"Change" from a bad government to a good government is still change, even if some of it is "change back" to a previous good government.

Obama is a copycat. In the Dem primary debates he copied Hillary's answers. Then he copied McCain's response to the Georgia-Russia conflict. It took him several tries, but he finally came out with a statement that reflected McCain's first response. Then he copied McCain's stance on offshore drilling. After the VP debate he copied Sarah Palin's "Never again!" comment concerning the economic meltdown. Now he's copying Bill Clinton's cabinet picks. I wonder who he will pick to be his 'Monica Lewinski'?

WELL, WELL, Obama is not even in yet and he is picking who the DEMS (old school) want him to! It's PAY BACK time for HUSSEIN OBAMA. You will get some of the worst people that are out there! HA,HA,HA,. I hope he goes belly UP!

I do believe Hilary handled what was thrown at her (by both the Republicans AND those in her own party) pretty well.

I think we both know why she was rejected. And it had nothing to do with any "baggage" or anticipated smear machine activities. Both sides have smear machines capable of taking on any member of the opposition.

You're deflecting.

Hilary wouldn't have been able to "energize" at least one of the key voting blocks that put a Democrat in the on-deck circle. Possibly neither. That's why she got the boot.

Our problems are too large for this type of ignorance...i suggest those of you that are determined to save the economy identify the ones that are working to make sure you fail and address them appropriately

We need People that are smart...

Change is from the Bush ignorance...it is wise to pick the best of what the nearest Democratic Administration still has to offer...heck some of the decent ones from the Republican Administration as well if they are committed to success...some of you "Patriots" are so set on failure that you have not really thought about what that means.
