Star Tribune, here' the latest from Minnesota, where a state-wide recount is underway in the Senate race between incumbent Republican,
Norm Coleman, and Democratic challenger,
Al Franken:
By the end of the day Wednesday, the mandatory statewide recount--triggered when the Election Day results gave Coleman a lead of less than 0.5 percent--slashed Franken's deficit from 215 votes to 174, with about 18 percent of the ballots having been reviewed.
Once again, we're looking at a razor-thin contest in which different counties cast their votes on varying equipment. Why can't this country finally standardize the process of how we vote, especially when it comes to races that have national implications?
UPDATE:
With 46% of the ballots now re-counted, Franken trails by 136.
