Elton John Would Have Voted No on Gay Marriage

Michael Medved posts over at Townhall.com that "one of the world's most prominent gay entertainers" doesn't want the right to get married. Said Sir Elton:
I don't want to be married! I'm very happy with a civil partnership. The word 'marriage,' I think, puts a lot of people off. You get the same equal rights that we do when we have a civil partnership. Heterosexual people get married. We can have civil partnerships
Medved goes on to praise the "irrefutable logic of this clear-thinking superstar."

Ironically, two years ago, almost to the day, Medved wrote a piece on Townhall criticizing Elton John for being intolerant of religion. I guess Medved's article really moved John to rethink his feelings on religion.

Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.
