*Commerce*???!!! The best he can do for Richardson is *Commerce*? (If Hillary gets State, of course.) Richardson has already had Energy and UN, and Energy is sure to be more important in this administration than f***in *Commerce*. What's Commerce gonna be, Ambassador (and whip-cracker) to Detroit? Gotta be a better place for Richardson.

Anyway, Geithner sounds good, though I'd been thinking that Sheila Bair might be an interesting semi-outside-the-box (not to mention "across-the-aisle") choice for Treasury -- she seems to have better ideas, and be more open-minded, than the guy running it now. But maybe she isn't as knowledgeable about all the abstruse financial instruments at the heart of the crisis -- apparently *nobody* is as knowledgeable about them as Geithner.

Are we talking about the same Hillary Clinton who broke down on the campaign trail with crocodile tears to get the female sympathy vote?

Are we talking about the same Hillary Clinton who lied about landing in Bosnia under sniper fire?

The more I hear about Obama -- Mr. "I'm not like those other politicians" pointing directly at Hillary Clinton -- hiring every Chicago thug, and every corrupt politician in Bill Clinton's administration -- the higher I pull-up my chest waders.

Is there anyone out there who can honestly -- with a straight face -- say that Obama is presidential material?

Every unfriendly dictator has to be laughing their butts off at Obama. They don't have to be psychic to predict where Obama is taking this country -- they just have to read the pathetic rap sheets on his choices.

Watching Obama pick his new cabinet reminds me that Jimmy Carter fired all his picks. Wonder if Obama will fire them all on the same day, like Carter did. Well, at least he could blame it on the Clinton's. "These people came highly recommended". LOL

Richardson had a less than a stellar run at DOE. I am thankful there will be no reprise. He is not a great Federal Administrator, though he seems to be a competent Governor. Commerce seems about right; he can use his UN experience and skills to focus on the international scene, travel, and forge mutually advantageous connections.

I realize that it is not in the best interest of haters and rumor-mongers to face the truth, BUT it seems to me that if the Clintons can so quickly "pass" the Obama Transition Team's intensive scrutiny, vetting, (in some cases, distrust) and potentially book-length responses to what MUST be the most detailed questionnaire for public office to date, then any honest, thinking person would have to put the rumors, the negativity, and unfounded gossip to rest. Let it be.

For whomever does what in the NEW CHANGE
Like a lot of US TAX PAYING folks I have a job, I work they pay me, I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as they see fit, thats how it works. In order for me to collect my paycheck I am required to take and pass a random drug/alcohol test with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a random drug/alcohol test, shouldn't one have to take and pass one to get their coveted welfare check, because I have to, to earn it for them. Please understand I have no problem helping one to get back on their feet, I do have a problem with helping someone sitting on their ASS doing drugs having kids and my taxes picking up the tab. Can you imagine how much money could be saved and put to good use if these people on public assistance had to pass a random drug/alcohol test to get their coveted welfare check or food stamps. Something has to change, and change soon. Lets see if the BIG CHANGER will protect the working public, or keep giving out freebees to druggies,and people who just don't give a dam except what is in it for me.

I think everyone needs to look up change and all the ways in which it can happen. In Obama's case, it's a change in the approach to governing. It means picking top people instead of cronies, who often have no clue about their subject. It means respecting the Constitution, restoring the balance of power back to its intended state, away from the accumulation of power towards the executive branch promoted by Bush/Cheney. It means more transparency, no hiding away to scheme with corporate buddies to use the power of our nation to pursue their own ends. It means listening to different opinions and respecting them. It means repairing ties with the rest of the world to enable us to work WITH them for the common goals which we actually DO share, contrary to what xenophobes think. By doing this, we give ourselves a better shot at fighting terrorism, expanding our markets, sharing in scientific research.

Tapping the best candidates for positions often means having known people. That's ok, as long as they're the right people for the jobs.

The biggest underlying changes are the substitution of intellect and reason for seat-of-the-pants governing and a return to a 'by the people for the people' mindset.

Well there better be the ability to do some "seat-of-the-pants" governing because the kinds of problems we're facing right now require will require action, not endless committees and fact-finding investigations. He and his administration will need to be able to hit the ground running - seriously. This is where experience comes into play. Unfortunately he, personally, doesn't have a lot of that.

Nobody is expecting miracles (well at least none of those who, like me, didn't vote for him) but there better be a game plan that can be implemented on day one. I'm hoping that part of the reason that we're not hearing much from him right now is that one is being developed.

After calming down and settling my stomach hearing that Hillary Clinton would be asked to become Secretary of State yesterday I began to rationalize Obama's choice or strategy for a fast transition during confirmation hearings due to the economy that could shine a light and unlock the closet on the Clinton's "SECRETS" on excepting Foreign Contributions
on the highest paid Speech Engagements from anyone in the United States History,and millions of dollars in Contributions to the William Jefferson Clinton Library/Foundation from Foreign Countries. Hillary feels that she has been fully vetted because she and Bill had gone through the most extensive investigations in America with White Water, File Gate,
Travel Gate, Tyson Foods, Criminal Fundraising, Inpeachment Gate, Lewinsky Gate, and a entire host of other gates,including obstruction of justice, but we have not crossed the threshold of "FOREIGN CONTRIBUTION GATE" that could become another one of the Clinton burden's of investigation put on Americans Tax Payer during confirmation hearings that will distract us from our economy downfall as we where distracted from sleeper cell terrorist learning how to fly airplains with the intent to kill us during the Clinton Administration. Knowing that Hillary has limited powers under President Obama and has reduced herself from running against Obama in 2012, and to (4) Fourth in line if anything should ever God Forbid happen to, Obama some solace. I think Obama killed (2) birds with one Stone in his choice so lets keep our fingures crossed. Hillary and Bill could have become an obstical in Obama's administration if she remained in the Senate and in this way Obama has her where he can watch her and Bill's ruthless low moral conspiring demeanor.

Maybe many were on the Clinton team but that is not the point, the point is that they are all highly qualified and will follow through on Obama's agenda, not the agenda used in the past. I can sense that the USA is in for a great presidential period the next 4 years and our standings world wide will improve dramatically. Obama will be our president so give him the benefit of doubt and see just what he can or cannot do, being critical of him before taking office is not fair and just shows ignorance on our part.

It isn't just the media (and I'd argue that those in the media who went to bat for him during the election are more reluctant than most to admit to it). There are a number of people in his own party who bought into the "change" mantra and who aren't happy with what they're seeing. They're very vocal in their concern that he's going to "govern from the middle".

Nobody gets a pass, Hugo. There are 57MM people in this country who voted against him. It's kind of foolish to expect them to be silent bystanders.
