'Monster' Mash-Up: Power and Clinton at State

Does this mean that Hilliary will not
be involved with Health Care I hope
so. According on one source, she wants
to force every citizen to enroll in
t he government health plan whether they
want to or not. The House of Representatives and Senate bills introduced
by Hilliary and Bill Clinton contain
provisions that call for massive fines
and heavy prision sentences for any
American who refuses to entroll in
their health plan. Enough of the
Clintons.

I guess, the point being made here is the Government has no business helping people who find themselves in dire conditions, for no fault of theirs. If not the government, who will? The rich, out of the natural goodness of their hearts? The Salvation Army? God, in His infinite wisdom? Or is this little story meant to tell us that, had those unfortunate people bought insurance (assuming that it was available, of course), the problem would have been resolved at no cost to the taxpayer?

Incidentally, I find the above quote a lot more interesting in what it implicitly says about the regressive nature of a tax system based on tariffs (in the early days of the Republic, the government's income came in great part from sales taxes, fees and trade tariffs; income taxation came later, in 1861, was abolished in 1872 and, finally, re-introduced in 1913).

Maybe all this Clinton hoorah is just a blind for support of the next admistration from many people reading the information. Maybe Hillary will be just a in name only as will Biden and others possibly. President elect Obama would be wise to pick someone he has more respect for and not because of Bill Clinton. Seems he does not have many good choices to pick from in modern day politics.

When these two get together at State, will there be Jello involved?

Enough, already! I am growing very tired of all this "drama"
surrounding Hillary Clinton's appointment to State. If course, she is
most capable of doing a superb job. But she also needs to control her
"operatives" and supporters. If she (along with Bill) will continue
to provoke all this "air-time" and media speculation, then she will
NOT be able to perform any job in partnership with Obama.

Yes, Clinton's role would be historic. But Obama's the story here,
not Hillary (nor Bill). Hillary needs to demonstrate a better mastery
of this political nomination process. It's Obama's process, and
Hillary needs to demonstrate her capability of playing this political
game by Obama's rules.

Suppress that Clinton hubris, please, Hillary!!! This nation really
does need your talents as Secretary of State!!!

Sen. Clinton has proven herself to be a "grownup", and with Obama's Cabinet/advisor picks, he is proving to be a grownup too. Obama's supporters, generally speaking, have proven themselves to NOT meet this standard. It is one thing to have strong people on your staff. It is quite another to have individuals who will fight for face-time with POTUS and stab you in the back, creating gossip, leaks, and chaos.

With promises of transparency by Obama, what is Samantha Power actually doing now? There is more than one expert for any given area. No one is irreplaceable. It is incumbent on Samantha Power to work with the Secretary of State. Anything done can be undone. Perhaps Sen. Clinton will get the pleasure, previously exercised by Obama, of firing her and sending her back to the obscurity she deserves in academia.
