No, I don't think it has any merit. A birth certificate was posted on his web site showing his birth in Hawaii and a story to go with it. Those who are keeping it alive are just sore losers.

Why won't he just release it? Something is going on here.

NOTHING about this has any merit. Anybody who thinks they can prove Obama ineligible to be President must think they're smarter than the GOP, which would have left no stone unturned to prove this BEFORE the election. C'mon!!! Doesn't that seem obvious?

The birth certificate thing is just more racism under a smoke screen. You birthers can keep this going as long as you want with no results, just as the "Impeach Bush" folks never got anywhere for the past 8 years.

There is merit to any question that the party will spend thousands of dollars to fight lawsuits to keep from answering the question!

If the web submitted certificates are real then he has no problem showing the actual certified vault copy to the appropriate Judge. That is a simple task, even John McCain did so.

Why spend thousands of dollars to block lawsuits that are requesting him to do what John McCain willfully and freely did?

I know to some these days the Constitution is just a "@#%?## piece of paper" but it would probably be a good idea to continue to follow it. If I have to produce a valid birth certificate so my child can play little league, is it a lot to ask the "elected" leader of this country to comply with the Constitution an just produce the valid document?!

If the Constitution has a few requirements that all presidents must meet (age and citizenship status), then Obama should honor those requirements and show his original birth certificate to the public who elected him. Every other president has had to prove their age and citizenship qualifications. Why should Obama be above the law?

After all, he & his campaign made McCain prove he is a natural born U.S. citizen (and Congress declared so) and also made McCain show all his personal medical records, without Obama having to do either. Sounds fishy... if there is nothing to hide and Obama's not breaking the law, then why not just have the original birth certificate published?

Obama HAS NEVER produced his BC. He's produced A Certification Of Live Birth, but not a Certificate Of Live Birth. There is a difference.

And what was shown on his website, and Factcheck and others, was proven to be a forgery. Thats why it was removed shortly after from Obamas website.

Even if the Certification were authentic, why not provide the Certificate with all the pertinent information?

The Certification DOES NOT PROVE he was born in Hawaii. Any citizen can get one, even if they were born in China. The Certification just proves a person is who they say they are.

Why is nobody concerned with the fact that this could be put to rest with a $10 copy from the government, and yet Obama has spent somewhere between $500,000 and $800,000 to block this.

Why does he waste taxpayers money on this foolishness.

All you have to do is use your brains to see something is wrong. Why has he spend over 300,000 in legal fees to keep his information hidden. Why dont we have standing. Why are all his records sealed. Why should we allow him to take office until he provides information.

The issue could be resolved so simply. All Obama need do is release an original, paper copy of his birth certificate. All that has been provided thus far is an Internet image that the preponderance of questioned document experts have found to have too many inconsistencies to be authenticated. The question than concerns many neutral observers is why "the lady protesteth too much". Only Obama can lay this issue to rest. If he refuses to do so, it will leave a cloud over his presidency that he can ill-afford. It is, after all, incumbent upon the candidate to demonstrate beyond all doubt, that he is a legitimate natural born citizen. This is particularly true of one for whom so many other documents are non-existent or not forthcoming (e.g. his parents marriage certificate and divorce degrees, adoption by his stepfather, ad infinitum ad nauseum, university records). Never before has a president-elect had so much mystery surrounding him. Those who would foolish cry "racism" must accept that there are serious Constitutional questions at stake.

This is why y'all lost the election. Learn to live in the reality-based community. Otherwise you'll remain (sore) losers for the foreseeable future.

Anyone who believes Obama is not a natural born citizen has a very serious problem with reality. It is one thing to not like the man, but to believe this type of insane garbage is beyond the pale. This has to be the weakest staw ever grabbed at...and shows me that those who actually consider this are nothing more than sore losers who cannot accept that a decent man won an election. Ohmigod. When will people learn to read! Obama released an official copy of his certificate MONTHS ago. The State of Hawaii does not EVER release full copies of the long form birth certificate. They only release Certificates of Live Birth -- such as the one that has been posted on the internet for MONTHS. California is the same, as is Washington, as is Oregon, as is nearly every state in the Union. And, to boot, the State of Hawaii verified the authenticity of the original birth certificate over a month ago! It was on the AP and is all over the web. Get real.
