The mainstream media wags are all atwitter about the possibility of the Democrat Governor of New York appointing Caroline Kennedy to replace Hillary Clinton in the U.S. Senate.

Apparently, in Democrat circles, nepotism has a new name: Senator.

If Caroline declines the throne office of Senate, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. could be an option. The son of a former Empire State Governor is also awaiting in the wings - Andrew Cuomo. Elsewhere Democrat Governors are sorting through family trees to find heir-apparents. In the Land of Lincoln, the son of Jessie Jackson is on deck to replace Barack Obama in the U.S. Senate. In Delaware, Vice-President-elect Joe Biden's son ended speculation after a painful week of local media gushing that he'd follow in 'Dad's footsteps'.

Of course Republicans have the Bushes. First the grandfather, then father, then the son and now it appears a brother.

Taxpayers could save a ton of money and hassle if the ruling families of our Political Class simply deeded, in their Wills and Estates, political titles offices to the next generation. After all, getting the public's participation in such choices is often messy, not to mention requiring hard-work and often time-consuming.

The Salon's Glenn Greenwald has noted there is a minimum of 15 (of 100) U.S. Senators with familial ties to politically connected and influential families.

Why have political freedom of choice or a merit-based system when hereditary is a much more efficient form of ruling. And with most inbreeds, you get the added benefit of inherent arrogance draped in smug sophism masquerading as liberal populism.

Plus, with the Political Class, we can forgo pestering ourselves with basic questions such as qualifications, vision or passion. When its all noblesse oblige, it's all about the pronoun.

Back to Caroline. What does she know? What does she believe and why does she believe it?

It doesn't matter. She's a Kennedy. So let's just indulge ourselves in some of her high-brow qualifications. Things you may/may not have known:

-- Neil Diamond wrote a song about her, "Sweet Caroline."

-- She attended a 9-month art course,,at Sothebys, in London.

-- She owns an estate on Martha's Vineyard.

-- She was raised and lives in a Penthouse on Manhattan.

-- She is a big fundraiser for New York City Public Schools; although she nor her children ever attended a public school.

-- She authors books on poetry.

-- She was a guest host on the show "Great Dance in America" and made an appearance on the cast-reunion taping of Gilligan's Island.

Most importantly, did i mention her name is Kennedy?
