Isn't The Gov. another one of Obama's unsavory pals from the past? Is Obama going to be involved. Stay tuned.

Attempting to portray Obama as being in any way involved opens up the guilt by association can o' worms to play around with too.
For example, bush's grandfather was a fascist and nazi sympathizer, dittoheads are led by an Oxycontin addict who wrecked his hearing because of his drug habit, cheney's married to a pornographer, Hannity's an anti semite, the whole nine yards.
The other plus side is that it only affects the colander helmet wingnuts, and their vote obviously doesn't count since it didn't matter in the general election.
Also, if the senate appointment had been made first, there would be controversy. Now he can probably appoint someone after he's out on bail and there'll be less of a problem.
Nice try, but guilt by association is a fairy tale. I post here, don't I?

Obama also received contributions for his senate campaign from the two persons appointed to rig the vote on the pension fund board.

It's only a matter of time before one of Obama's 'associates' gives a performance that will rival that of the Three Tenors.

Who will be the first to sing? Rezko? Kelly? Levine? Blagojevich?
Thank God for US attorney Patrick Fitzgerald. he is making a valiant attempt to stop corruption in Illinois government. This is similar to trying to shovel snow in a snow storm.

Obama will now get to watch as his well-trained media lapdogs parrot his "so sad, but nothing to do with me" lines.
Funny how Fitzgerald, the great crusader, waited until after the election to break the case...

If anything, Obama will learn that his time in office will be a time of every action, association, and word being continuously scrutinized. He will learn that great sweeping promises of "change" will take a backseat to learning to govern two very different ideological groups and do it without completely distancing either. He will lose his naivete about his new position and with it he will add a few gray hairs to his head. Things will be found out about him. People will either polarizedly love him or hate him. And he will have to learn how to deal with his detractors the way presidents before him learned to deal with theirs.
In a nutshell, he will merge into the system. He will stand in the shoes of his predecessors and ultimately become molded to them because that is the nature of American politics. Many past presidents came into office with high ideals, only to have to handle issues and real people on an everyday, national and international level. And it changed them. Not always for the better.
So take note! Those who worship any man, regardless of party affiliation, will be in for a rude awakening when he screws up and thus proves himself human. Anyone who worships Obama (or hates him) does well to remember this.

It seems that Democrat Gov. Rod Blagojevich, Republican US Senator Ted Stevens and Republican Gov. Sarah Palin have a lot in common.

Barry's nose is growing... Would those that constantly shriek "LIAR" about Bush dare say the same about Obama? From an ABC story (congrats to a media outlet for actually pointing out the "discrepancy")...
Asked what contact he'd had with the governor's office about his replacement in the Senate, President-elect Obama today said "I had no contact with the governor or his office and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening."
But on November 23, 2008, his senior adviser David Axelrod appeared on Fox News Chicago and said something quite different.
While insisting that the President-elect had not expressed a favorite to replace him, and his inclination was to avoid being a "kingmaker," Axelrod said, "I know he's talked to the governor and there are a whole range of names many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them."

Let us not forget that greed is in every party. The former gov. of Ill.is currently serving a 6 year term in prison for the same stuff. He was a gop Gov. If this guy goes to jail that will be four out of the last eight. Ill. has a big problem of lack of ethics.

The upside is that when you surround yourself with corrupt windbag politicians as Obama has, it has the effect of making him look saintly by comparison.
But this windy city power vacuum left by Barack's timely exit from the Senate serves only one thing - the selfish interests of yet another power hungry governor.
What? You don't think Sarah Palin would have rolled over to the highest bidder if Ted Stevens were forced to give up his Senate seat? You betcha she would!
They (the Senate) need to find another way to fill vacant seats left by outgoing Senators that doesn't involve giving State Governors the sole decision making.
Maybe it's time for a whole new Constitution because the so-called balance of power in this country is very unbalanced and We, the People, need to take it back!
