Is Barack Obama Tainted by the Rod Blagojevich Scandal?

This Blagojevitch guy should rot in jail.

But there is NOTHING there that would suggest that President Obama was involved in ANY of Blagojevitch's schemes, even remotely.

I may be wrong but the noise made on the Right about this corruption case is beginning to look like a new case of 'birth certificate' conspiracy. Having failed to get the election undone by challenging President Obama's citizenship, the Far Right now hopes to damage President Obama's reputation and credibility before he even takes office.

Governor Blogojevich won't give the Senate seat to Obama's person without a phat deal, so Obama's people have him busted.
Seems simple to me.

I wish O,Bama the best,but why does he know so many corrupt people,it kind of makes one wonder.

In order to stay above it all, he has had to throw a lot of people under that bus everyone talks about.

The governor of Illinois is part of the corrupt democratic machine in Illinois. Obama was a part of the same machine. It is not possible to be a part of Chicago politics and not be a part of what is going on. And what is going on is always corrupt.

Are you one of the people who's been painting Obama for months or years as part of the "corrupt Chicago machine"? So all of a sudden, when a ridiculously corrupt leader of that machine gets caught and Obama is conspicuously *not* involved in the wrongdoing, it's "Obama's people have him busted"? I don't think so. Just imagine what you would be saying if Obama *was* involved in either the corruption or the prosecution. Or was out there supporting the guy.

The NYTimes article that DK cites is about Obama pushing for an ethics bill, whose effective date of 1 January 2009 may have pushed Blagojevich to pursue as much graft as he could before that date. That is a far cry from "Obama's people busted him," or "throw[ing him] under the bus." It's Blagojevich who's corrupt, not Obama. It's Blagojevich who may have violated the terms of the new law, and of course various existing laws. Obama's pushing for the new law deserves nothing but praise, whether it was "aimed" specifically at Blagojevich and/or other supposed Obama allies in the Chicago machine or not. (And of course it's of a piece with his strong record on ethics reform in both the IL and U.S. Senates, despite characterizations of him as a "do-nothing" legislator.) And of course Blagojevich deserves nothing but condemnation (and possible removal from office, imprisonment, etc.) for his (alleged) actions. There's absolutely no "taint" on Obama here whatsoever.

Alaska is corrupt and Palin went in a cleaned house. Obama seemed to be very friendly with all of these corrupt people... interesting. This post in NO way is meant as an endorsement for Palin being President because I don't think she is qualified but she did more than Obama. He needs to stop the lying and lead this country. What part of this is "CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN!"

How many times have we all heard the story's of ministers, business people, and politicians who preach, fidility, and all the while are having affairs.

So The Big ZERO is pushing a reform bill, maybe he may be pushing it, not so much for what it stands for, but because he thinks it may help his image. as many, many politicians have for decades.

but then, he sat in a church and never once heard anything, so I guess you can be part of a very corrupt political group and not know what is going on.

That's funny, it looks like the same list you and your cohorts were pushing six months ago. None of whose members ever was, or is now, a "taint" on Obama. Either he had nothing to do with them at all, or they did nothing bad, or he had nothing to do with (and in fact condemned) the bad things they did (or said).

If the best you can do is recycle this nonsense, I feel sorry for you.
