Apparently some of the same people who demand acceptance and tolerance aren't willing to give it. In other words, "You will accept our alternative lifestyle or we'll just set fire to your church."

It wouldn't surprise me if the person(s) responsible for this are the some of the same Palin haters who comment on these blogs.

How long before innocent people get hurt because of this? How does this effect Sarah's children?

A female Governor with conservative values is asked by Senator McCain to be his running mate. She accepts and campaigns on the values that she and most people in this country believe in- God and country, limited government, individual freedom, strong national defense, pro-life, protection of the sanctity of marriage, etc. The liberals and their media crucify her, insinuating that she's stupid (which the facts show just the opposite), they call her names(pig with lipstick), insult her family, hang her in effigy, etc. Even her opponent (Obama) sends 30 lawyers to Alaska to try to dig up dirt on her.

Now , her church has been burned- apparently by some person(s) who disagrees with her.

But criticize Obama, and your a racist hatemonger.

It wouldn't surprise me if the word "liberal" was from the latin for "hypocrite".

Behold- the liberal Democrats. The party of tolerance and understanding.

Since I am a conservative, I guess that means that I'm one of "the absolute worst of us". Just what does it mean to "act like an American"? I guess we all need some liberal 'mental giant' to tell us how we should behave. I'd be willing to bet that it was a lib who started this fire. Is that who we're supposed to be cheering for?

To attack a church is so wrong, no matter whether you agree with the message or not. We should all wait until the investigation reveal who and why the church was burned before we began making accusations. I hope that the find the individual or individuals involved and they are punished. Let not place this incident on people who might be innocent.

This is just another of how hateful and polemic America is becoming. Homophobia, racism, religious bigotry are alive and well there. This savage attack on a church is not going to help anyone. We're a stretch more tolerant here in Canada. Learn from us: don't let America become AmeriKKKa.

This attack was triggers by the left's incessant
attacks on Sarah Palin who by my estimates, represents

As a tolerant human being, I am not condoning any such action. I am very thankful that no one was hurt.

Perhaps there are people in Alaska that detest what Palin stands for. In my book that would not be too hard to do. Perhaps the people of the church did it themselves to create some kind of martardom. People of that faith tend to take things to an extreme. Perhaps it was someone that has been hurt so badly by a decision she has made or a terrible guilt she placed on them. It could be a number of people or groups that are tired of Palin's rantings and the way she deals with people working under her. According to some people of Wasilla and according to the investigative report, she has affected many people of Alaska in a negative way while in her "public service" offices.

Perhaps they are ashamed of the fool she made of herself and how it reflects on the State of Alaska.

Bettye is correct. Before you right-wingnuts start your accusation games, which you just love to seem to do, perhaps you will wait this time (unlike the "B on the cheek" episode) to allow the investigation to define who the culprits are.

Didn't Sarah Palin say during the Presidential/V.P. campaign that she was no longer a member of that church? She felt it was too controversial and felt it better for her running for VP to deny her membership there.

you could start by repudiating the Italian government model your party follows. And I'd challenge your assertion that you're 'conservative'. Conservatism is better represented by democrats and it's been that way since reagan. I don't hold his fascination with with failed european regimes and philosophies to be conservative so much as reactionary.

Merging corporate interests and government removes enfranchisement and fosters totalitarianism, as your reagan and bushes have shown. That's oligarchic, despotic, authoritarian and reactionary, way beyond conservatism.

Presently a gaggle of republican southern senators who are clearly and demonstrably in the pocket of foreign auto manufacturers who pay no American taxes are trying to corner a larger market share for the former nations of Hitler and Tojo at the cost of jobs in northern states while putting our capacity to defend ourselves in peril.

Even Mussolini and Hitler weren't that stupid, but you hoover advocates, I don't know. You certainly are avoidant of the lessons history teaches the rest of us.

Somehow, foreign automobile companies (Japanese and German), and a reinvented American automobile company (Saturn), established manufacturing and assembly plants in the Southern US, to take advantage of reduced transportation costs and cheap labor! These are knee-slapping events! An Asian car company and an American car company using GM chassis platforms, building a profitable business outside the Michigan UAW “dead zone.”

Lately, several cost per hour numbers have been thrown around and some folks are hung-up on the “wage” component. The fact is, the fully-loaded cost of building cars in the South is $25-$30 less expensive, per manhour, than is the case in Michigan. Wages, benefits and retirement liabilities have made old Michigan plants, with UAW contracts, uncompetitive. It’s that simple.

The saddest part of this debacle is, it doesn’t need to continue. Viewed from another perspective, this could be a terrific opportunity! But, it will require a completely new business model. It starts with new management and a new Board of Directors actually interested in building quality cars that Americans want to buy. It may take a modified Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and require a meaningful safety net under existing industry workers.

Buyers need incentives to purchase new American cars including sliding scale tax incentives tied to CAFÉ standards and a guarantee that car warranties will be honored. TARP monies could achieve both requirements.

A new American hybrid auto industry could emerge that would help clean-up the environment and reduce US dependence on foreign oil, a new lean, green efficient and effective US auto industry.

Our American 'will' has been replaced by good ol American greed and a heathy dose of American entitlement and laziness. Mix greed and graft together, toss in entitlement and laziness and common sense ceases to be found. I'm still hoping for a solution outside of a world war to bail us out this time.

It is clear this is Evil > Now, if you want to do the right thing, to answer this Evil, break out your check books and start sending the Wasilla Bible Church some money to rebuild and help these people of God, ASAP
