Caroline Kennedy to Seek Hillary's Senate Seat

Caroline is JFK's daughter. She is not qualified to be Senator just because of her name. I personally think if she is appointed the whole thing is slimy corrupt politics. It will be payback for helping Obama get elected.

The Republicans are always criticized as being the 'religious right'. Mainly because most Republicans believe in God, while the Democrats have their gods. They have Obama worship, Hillary worship, Kennedy worship. And they haven't figured out yet that the worship of politicians is insanity.

I think Caroline should wait and run for the office at the next election...I agree she isn't experienced enough to fill that seat...I like the idea of a Robert Kennedy, Jr., instead if it must be a Kennedy...Hillary Clinton has done much good for the state of New York and snide remarks about her residency as opposed to Caroline's are silly...I like the notion that one must appoint someone who will truly reflect Sen. Clinton's views, which Caroline does not, and someone whose gravitas and experience are equal to the senator they're replacing..Yes, history is full of other choices like spouses and children of governors,etc., but to do the best for New York, I like the idea of appointing a bigger star and letting Caroline earn her seat in the senate at the next election and by doing lot of community activist things in the next few years..

she has a law degree from Columbia, emphasis is Constitutional Law and their family has national service in their veins...

how many others in the Senate as qualified regarding Constitutional Law? she is probably more qualified than many already there using that metric...

She has no experience in politics whatsoever. Having a relative in politics doesn't qualify her. We don't know what her views are. All we know is that she is probably a Democrat being related to the Kennedy's. The only Kennedy I liked was our President Kennedy in 1963 when I working and remembered his speech about "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." This was more of a Republican type of statement than a Democratic one. Democrats want people to be dependent on their country to take care of them and a lot of them don't want to work and think they deserve to be taken care of. That is why they keep voting for the Democrats. Republicans want Government to stay out of our lives and we want our efforts and our want to accomplish things by ourself and work hard to get places. Go to college, if can't get a scholarship, work while you are going to college. You have a more sense of accomplishment doing that. I started working when I graduated from high school learning typing, filing, shorthand, business machines to be able to work in an office and not in fast food restaurants. I didn't have the grades to get a scholarship but went to a community college at night and it took 6 years to complete my 2 year degree as an Administrative Secretary. Made decent money, not great, but so much better than minimum wage and had benefits including health insurance, vacation, sick leave, etc. My parents taught me to be honest and put in an honest days' work for my pay. Kept my checkbook balanced and paid room and board so I'd appreciate that I'm living at home and what things cost. I got a 10-year old used car for graduation which I was so happy about. Kids nowdays want a new car but don't make enough for car payments or insurance. I wonder sometimes, why other kids were not raised this way so make them self-reliant. I worked 30 years at my company and had profit sharing and 401k and I'm retired now and have moved out of state where the air is cleaner and the people are so much nicer in Nevada. We paid off all of our bills when we sold our house in CA and bought a bigger house for 1/3 of the cost of the house we sold and are doing great with our social security, my husband's pension from his 32 year job and have our IRA that has lost some money but it was diversified enough by our Financial Consultant that we will be fine. We planned for our retirement and we're enjoying life. We work part-time for ourselves. My husband has an antique mall space for selling collectibles and I sell on Ebay. It keeps us busy and we enjoy life and eat out a lot at the buffets here in Reno inexpensively. Not worth cooking for what you pay. Thanks for letting me comment. I think the big 3 auto workers shouldn't have gotten in this mess but because government forced them to make cars that give better mileage but they should have planned for the future on better mileage and should file bankruptcy to get rid of the unions that have gotten wages for people that work on the lines that don't need any particular knowledge or training to get that kind of salary. I never made more than $15.00 an hour with a degree. Union leaders should consider the pay of comparable jobs like in the foreign car workers in the US. If the union wagers were more in line with comparables, the cars would be less expensive and they could have sold more cars, so the auto companies could earn enough to retool the factories for better fuel efficient cars. Of course, that is if the CEO's and executives just didn't take more money for themselves instead of making the cars better and expanding to new plants for re-tooling to more fuel efficient cars and you not just change a design on a car so some peoople could just get a new car but not a better car. The auto companies just changed the looks every year just to make the cars obsolete but not better. Make the same car without changing the design or workings unless it is to make it better. And we know they aren't made like they used to that last longer. Make a much better economical car.

Here we go again. Another individual who has absolutely no qualifications to hold a political office. If this would have been another unknown person, this would not even be an issue. The depressing part is that she probably will be appointed. God help us all.

As long as they investigate who the daddy is of her children, the dems should have no problem electing her. Make sure they check out her wardrobe, too. If she passes these two qualifications with flying colors, then she is experienced enough for the job.

Lack of experience in "politics as usual" and having the name recognition and emotional connection to New Yorkers that "political deal-making" would be unnecessary to "winning" this Senate seat may make Caroline Kennedy one of the MOST qualified candidates for political office.

Americans want change. That change must include what it takes to be "effective" in elected office. Not being entrenched in the way politics have been conducted is a "good" qualification --- not a weakness. Caroline Kennedy would bring character back into the chambers of the U.S. Senate!!!

taking her name out of the equation...she is still as qualified or more than many already seated...

I'm not a Kennedy fan nor am I a democrat; however, this woman has been living politics since she was born. Her life has been about public service and representing her family to the nation. If don't qualify a person for national office, I don't know what does.
Also, the country just elected someone w/far less experience and a considerably less known back ground to president.

What is it with all the Democrats wanting to put people with ZERO experience into high office? Personally, I'd rather see J Lo get the position than another corrupt Kennedy

Liberal Democrats thought that Sarah Palin was not qualified to be VP even though she was a mayor of a city and a current governor, the chief executive of a state. Caroline Schlossberg is thought to be qualified to be a US senator because of her maiden name. The double standard is appalling.

I think it's a joke that we would even consider appointing a complete politcal novice to this office during these turbulent times. Why would New Yorkers handical themselves like this. As we saw with her Uncle and with Ms. Clinton they just wanted that Senate seat as a forum to run for President ?? Why are we so enamored with marquee names and not with substance ???
