The light at the end tunnel appears to be another train. What a hypocrite. He just condemned 800,000 Americans each year to rape in prison for the same activity he engaged in. But I guess that's the point, of being president huh Obama? What a fraud!

A lot of law enforcement officers don't like to see their resources and precious time on duty wasted on what they essentially see as a non crime.

It's a sin issue more than anything else. There are excellent medical uses for THC.

The sin issue leaks over into prohibiting production of non THC producing hemp for green energy alternatives.

The Diesel engine was designed to run on hemp oil, for example, and hemp is the most efficient converter of sunlight to energy of any rooted plant.

Exploring these resources is the point more than the buzz.

Getting a better social tolerance of C. sativa as a controlled lawful substance the same as ETOH makes sense, but at a loss of power to some agendas that also reach farther than the use of recreational marijuana. The baby with that bathwater is a green technology we already have experience with from the nineteenth century and earlier.

Most people know both sides, or should by now.

Good points, Clif. NOT legalizing marijuana for medical usage is ridiculous. Marinol, the synthetic form of THC, just doesn't cut it as an adjunct anti-emetic for chemo patients, for example. 189 PRO & only 51 CON in this poll alone, so why won't he listen to his electorate?!

Right back atcha. This is about the time during the holidays that I start saying to myself--"are we done yet?" I don't know if it is a good sign that these blogs are actually keeping me sane. But hey, the kids are coming home from college and there is snow in the Sierras--swooshing time! They never ask the people this question, they just decide for themselves then say they speak for the people. Repealing it's prohibition would probably have some positive benefits regarding stress and productivity, and likely bring a lot of folks with social anxiety back into the public as functioning members now that they don't have to hide their vice of choice and thus no longer don a disguise for everyday life.

Judging by some of the comments/theories I have read over the last 3 months, I thought that it had ALREADY been legalized ....... Well, if it has not yet been legalized, I really see no problems in legalizing it. I can't see how it would make things worse ;-)
