Almost as interesting as TIME's "Person of the Year" were the "runners up" and "people who mattered" lists. And speaking of the lists, it is also interesting to note the number of people who weren't considered to have "mattered" in '08.


... Don't get me wrong, the people they chose were definitely important, but can you really tell me that NONE of the following people "mattered" in 2008?

Eliot Spitzer
Jeremiah Wright
Bill Ayers
Barney Frank
Joe the Plumber
T. Boone Pickens
Rod Blagojevich
Mitt Romney
Mike Huckabee
Joseph Cao
Joe Lieberman


I'm sure you can think of some others...

Worst Pundit of the Year
Worst Senate Subcommittee of the Year
Whiner of the Year
Who Time Didn't Consider
