As a
followup, Helen Jones-Kelly, who was suspended by Ohio governor Ted Strickland (D) but NOT fired, for illegally invading the privacy of one Joe Wurzlbacher, has called it quits. She won't be the last.
Columbus Dispatch Daily Briefing...In a four-paragraph statement, she said, "it is with sadness and clarity that I have decided to resign...This decision comes after having a time of pause, in which I realize that I continue to be used as a political postscript, providing a distraction from urgent state priorities.
"My professional career, and the legacy of service I have established, has been, and continues to be, far too important for me to allow my reputation and my commitment as a servant leader to be disparaged. I also remain concerned for the safety of my family and myself."
Ha! Irony. Apparently faking a policy of investigating those who become newsworthy makes one newsworthy yourself. Oops. And apparently she's going to take one for the team. Good for her, but bad for governor Strickland who should have done the right thing with a firing in the first place. It's bad enough that the government keeps records on everyone (and no the record keeping didn't start with Bush) and also note that Obama has been a
victim too of this sort of thing.
I will followup with the mostly overused, but not quite lame, word of 2008.
Helen Jones-Kelly: Fail.
