Blagojevich: 'I Will Fight Until I Take My Last Breath'

    Posted:
    12/19/08
Embattled Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich has just wrapped up his first news conference following his arrest on corruption charges regarding Barack Obama's Senate seat. Apparently, he isn't about to resign his post anytime soon:

"I will fight. I will fight. I will fight until I take my last breath. And I'm not going to quit a job that people hired me to do because of false accusations and a political lynch mob."

The "political lynch mob" that the governor is referring to includes federal prosecutors, the Illinois Attorney General, his own Lieutenant Governor, 100% of the Illinois House of Representatives, and President-Elect Obama. Sounds like a conspiracy to us!

Blagojevich went on to emphatically declare his innocence, while never actually addressing the charges against him. He also slammed "Meet the Press," quoted extensively from Rudyard Kipling's poem "If," and wished everyone a Merry Christmas. You can read the full transcript here.

Hard to imagine why some folks have questioned the governor's mental health.
