I'm not gonna lie, I actually love to say I told you so. In this case, though, I can only take partial credit, since Barack
Obama also told you so.
George Stephanopoulos revealed that he has been briefed on Barack Obama's review of staff contacts between the transition office and Rod Blagojevich's, and Rahm Emanuel comes out smelling like a freshly Febreezed rose:
Now, all that remains is for those who questioned, without basis, Obama's accounting to this point to abjectly and humbly apologize. I realize that much of it was of the "Questions remain" variety, but that's a little like having questions remain about the shape of the Earth. If someone who's been around it tells you it's round, and all of the available facts are consistent with it being round, your questions aren't really a story.
Obama has also been hamstrung by a prosecutor's office that insists on secrecy from him, yet leaks things constantly. I think that, when all of the facts come out, we will also find out that initial reporting that had Emanuel dropping a dime on Blago will be confirmed.
So, I'd like to thank all of the Republicans who ignored John McCain's and Newt Gingrich's advice, and tried to conjure up scandal where none existed. It only provides a more brilliant contrast for this vindication.

Sources tell me that the Obama team's review of contacts with Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich will show that Rahm Emanuel had only one phone conversation with Blagojevich.Wow, one whole phone call. Was it this one?
The contact, described as a "pro-forma" courtesy call, came as Emanuel was named Chief of Staff for Obama. Most of the discussion concerned Emanuel's Congressional seat (which had previously been held by Blagojevich), with only a "passing reference" to the Senate vacancy, according to these sources. No deal for the Senate vacancy was discussed.
