If the Democrats in the state don't let the folks decide who the next Senator is they all should be voted out of office next time around. Everyone who lives in the state knows the play for pay deal and it's been going on to long. We got one bum from here in the Senate right now, give us a chance to put a new your upstanding Republican in office, got to start with some young blood. This BS of picking who they want, look at whats going on in New York, this bitch knows little about anything, born with a sliver spoon in her mouth and she knows nothing about folks out here in small town America, she has been in the elite liberal circles for years, someone around to wipe her butt for years. Then you got the slug Sen Biden holding the Senate seat for his son, like this butt hole has the right to the seat. Wake up folks and send these slugs a message. The last good Senator from this state was Sen Roth.

Did you forget it's an ILLINOIS political competition? The headline should read "Six Tainted, Cut-Throat Candidates Vie for Illinois Senate Seat." Bids and favors come at a premium. The original $1 million bid from Jesse Jackson, Jr. "supporters" wasn't even enough to get the seat!

Ditka will get the seat. In four years he'll run against Obama as a GOP. He loses, switches parties and runs in eight as a Dem. We in Chicago OWN THE WHITE HOUSE NOW!!!!!!!!

The comment about Rep. Jan Schakowsky being Jewish is nothing less then BLATANT anti-Semitism. First, there have been many distinguished Jewish Senators in the past and there are at least 7 serving now. The question is whether Illinois is ready? However, that should not be a criteria,;qualification are. I know this was supposed to be tongue and cheek, but it was just plain offensive.

How can you write America is not ready for a Jewish senator? Even in jest this is not funny. Check it out there are already several senators and they are doing just fine please and thank you.

The term "bid" can have different interpretations or meanings. Unless Blagojevich said to the highest bidder in terms of offerring cash for the senate seat; he could have meant highest bidder in terms of offerring their credentials and record of experience. In a zealous attempt to do the "gotcha" game against Blagojevich, the fanatics ran with half of the possibilities of what Blagojevich meant by 'the highest bidder".

This is indicative of how our governments at large have deteriorated to where it is based on who has the most money to spend and who is best positioned inside the "inner circles" of each part of the government. It also points to the need to put in term limits on every elected position at every level of government. Somehow, we have to start breaking down these machines like the Daly based Chicago and Illinois political machine. It is not healthy for the country to have these kinds of people and organizations spending our money and trying to run the country.
