Ann Coulter Declares Sarah Palin "Conservative of the Year"

Source: Fox NewsUber-conservative gadfly Ann Coulter has a Christmas gift for Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin: an anointment as "Conservative of the Year!"

Coulter made the declaration in her online column for humanevents.org, the right-wing website. Palin apparently beat out other conservatives, like John McCain (whom Coulter described as a "car crash"), Mitch McConnell, and Alan Keyes. Only one other contender came close to the prize, apparently ... Ann Coulter.
Sarah Palin wins HUMAN EVENTS' prestigious "Conservative of the Year" Award for 2008 for her genius at annoying all the right people. The last woman to get liberals this hot under the collar would have been ... let's see now ... oh, yeah: Me!

The entire presidential election year was kind of a downer for conservatives. Once the "maverick" John McCain won the nomination, the rest of the year was like watching a slow motion car crash. Except at least a slow-motion car crash is occasionally entertaining. So it was going to be a long year.

Until Palin.

Reading Coulter's column is like a blast from the past - well, last October at least. She digs up Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, and Tony Rezko. And she has some classic Coulterisms, like deriding Democratic women as ugly, and mentioning Ronald Reagan a half-dozen times. Just about the only thing she doesn't do is prostelytize to the Jews.

Coulter also did not mention whether or not Palin's status as Conservative of the Year should allow her to keep th
e right to vote, unlike the rest of American women whose suffrage Coulter has suggested removing.
