In a shocking development, I went with the "So-and-so Resigns" headline
again!

Rahm Emanuel has officially resigned his seat in the House of Representatives. In a delicious bit of irony, he did so in a letter to Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich.
From NYT:
"As sons of immigrants to this country, you and I have a deep appreciation for the opportunities America provides to those who are willing to work hard and sacrifice for their children," wrote Mr. Emanuel, who won the seat in 2002. "As a member of the next administration in Washington, I will strive to maintain and expand that opportunity for all families, because the chance to work hard and build a better life is the principle that unites all Americans."
I know he's resigning to become Barack Obama's Chief of Staff, but I really wish he'd think about becoming an undercover crime-buster.
Although earlier drafts of the resignation letter are unavailable, Political Machine's forensics team have managed to reconstruct one using a variety of techniques.
Blago,
This is Rahm (expletive)ing Emanuel. Remember me? The guy who tried to reason with you about that open senate seat? Hey, (expletive)-o, how's my "appreciation" sound now?
I (expletive)ing quit. Here's hoping my (expletive)ing replacement doesn't need a (expletive)ing PayPal account.
Rahm out!
