Oh, please let that happen! If there is a God, or several of them, or even just a Santa Claus, hear my plea and let this happen!

The UK Times reports that a new group of Palin fans have formed Team Sarah:
An internet campaign is already under way to promote Palin as the Republican party's best choice to challenge Obama in the presidential elections of 2012. More than 60,000 people have joined TeamSarah.org, an umbrella group that unites numerous pro-Palin fan clubs such as Catholics for Sarah, Texans for Palin and Small Business-Owners for Sarah.
And Mainstream Media Writers for Palin, her most rabid constituency.

Perhaps to add to the authenticity of the site, Team Sarah even promotes itself with their own homemade Palinism:
Team Sarah is a coalition of women dedicated to advancing the values that Sarah Palin represents in the political process. Men welcome too!
Great, I'd like a large order of fries. Asparagus welcome, too!

The upside here is huge. For me, it means an awesome campaign to write about, which should officially start in about 7 weeks. For the Republicans, they have no chance of unseating Obama, but Palin can help them raise money, and maybe win some downticket races. That's not to mention Nieman-Marcus' stake in this.

How bad would it have to be in 2012 for Palin to win? Mad Max bad. Obama would need to have lapsed into crippling alcoholism, begun a program to burn kittens for fuel, and raised taxes for Palin to even make a dent.

So, by all means, go to TeamSarah.org, and donate a sixpack, or whatever. We need more of this:

Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.
