Alright, time to take the old man out to pasture. George H.W. Bush, who apparently contracted Alzheimer's from sharing needles with Ronald Reagan, believes that after 8 years of his son, America would be well served by
even more presidents named Bush.
Specifically he's thinking about
his son Jeb, a former governor of Florida and potential candidate for Mel Martinez's Senate seat in 2010.
Asked in a broadcast interview about Jeb Bush's consideration of the Senate seat, Bush 41 said: "I'd like to see him run. I'd like to see him be president someday."
But why so quick to anoint Jeb, Mr. President? What about your 4th son, Neil, who is surely the only member of the Bush clan to
co-star in a film with Michael Moore!
Now admittedly Neil had a
wee bit of role in the Savings & Loan crisis. But hey, at least his mistakes only cost the taxpayers $1 billion, as opposed to $6 trillion his brother George cost us between his
war,
new debt, and the
Wall Street bailout. So switching to felonious Neil would actually
save taxpayers money. Think of all the flat-screen TVs we could buy!
And the list goes on beyond Neil. There's his son, Pierce Bush,
seen here mouthing off to news anchor Campbell Brown. There's Jeb's son George P. Bush, who is half-Latino and was
practically nominated for president by the U.K.'s
Guardian in 2004.
And if you really want to think outside the box, you could always go with Millie Bush, who despite being
a dog, is a
published author. Or
Reggie Bush, who is not technically related to Grandpa George, but has scored more than anyone else on this list. (At least since Neil kicked his
Asian hooker habit.)
So think those names over, President Bush 41. Because from the sound of it, even you
aren't entirely sold on Jeb...
When asked if he was serious, [Bush] said: "Or maybe senator. Whatever. Yes, I would. I mean, right now is probably a bad time, because we've had enough Bushes in there. But no, I would. And I think he's as qualified and able as anyone I know on the political scene. Now, you've got to discount that. He's my son."
And after hearing that delightfully worded quote, we're now reminded that
Sarah Palin will probably be running as well.
