Levi Johnston Quits Oil Job

Well, that reported $300,000 that People magazine payed Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston for pics of their new baby is looking like a much-welcome reserve right about now. Via the Anchorage Daily News:

Levi Johnston, the boyfriend of Gov. Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol, has quit his North Slope oil field job over questions about his eligibility to work in an electrical apprenticeship program, Johnston's father said Monday.

The sticking point in the apprenticeship? Johnston dropped out of high school, and a diploma is required. Coincidentally, Sarah's husband, Todd, also works at the same oil field.

But the moral of this story is pretty clear. As James Brown put it in his soul classic, "Don't be a Dropout"
