Coulter On Today Show: It's the Bastards, Stupid!
Tommy Christopher
After a brief lifetime ban, Ann Coulter was back on NBC this morning, facing off with the Today show's Matt Lauer.
They spent a couple of minutes sparring about the Drudge-created controversy, and Coulter made the point that Drudge has never had to retract a story. I would point out that Drudge has no editor, or editorial policy, to speak of. When you publish clearly-labeled rumors, why would you ever have to retract them?
Coulter goes on to talk about her book, which seems to be making the case that single motherhood is what's wrong with America, and if the media would stop encouraging it, everything would be fine. This is akin to claiming that fevers are to blame for all infections.
On a side note, I could really have done without Matt Lauer pausing to reach for his glasses to read from her book. Not cool, Matt. Why don't you just reach for your Miracle Ear controller while you're at it? If you're getting old, don't make it my problem.
