Senate Dems To Seat Roland Burris After All

He was leagally appointed by a Gov. that has not yet been found guilty...they have no choice.Can we move on now to the serious issues at hand?This country is in the toilet( thanks G.W.) and we need to come together to pull it out.

Constitutionally, this is about the Rights of the people of Illinois, not about their allegedly corrupt Governor. The people there have a Right to be represented by two U.S. Senators just like the people of every other State. By all accounts, Roland Burris is a good and decent man. To deny the people of any State equal Federal representation because their Governor committed a felonias act is wrong. In essence, you are punishing the people of an entire State for the sins of their Governor. If I lived in Illinois, I would be in Federal Court to file a lawsuit against Harry Reid and his ilk for conspiring to violate my Constitutional Right of equal representation. If it turns out that Mr. Burris has committed an unlawful act, then the Senate can expel him. Until then, the people of Illinois have an absolute Right to equal representation.

When Burris was Attorney General, in 1992 he sought the death penalty for an innocent man (Rolando Cruz)causing one of his deputies to resign. In 1993 he opposed pension benefits for Chicago Fire Department paramedics that had been granted to them by the 1st District Appellate Court. In 1993 he refused to turn in his gun when he led the campaign for everyone else to turn in their guns.

Some people do remember that in 1998, Burris caused a controversy by referring to his Democratic primary opponents -- Jim Burns, Glenn Poshard and John Schmidt -- as nonqualified white boys. If someone called Burris a nonqualified black boy he would scream racism.

Parasite Magic Man Burris will be voted out of office in 2010 and he knows it. He could not win an election to save his life. He lost elections for US Senator, Mayor of Chicago and Gov. three times. The voters of Illinois will be able to vote for someone that is a winner and has integrity instead of a parasite and a distraction for Blagojevich. Hopefully Bobby Rush will go down with Burris.

It is wrong, wrong, wrong. Unethical tactics are being condoned which reflects poorly on those who believe he is worthy of the seat. He is not worthy of anything under the circumstances & is making you look like a fool (which you are).

Roland Burris will be seated in the US Senate only if the Democrats do not care that the voters of Illinois will get their revenge in 2010 by voting in a Republican senator and governor.
