I loved Gupta's needless specificity here. "Dead bull penis." There are other ways to serve it? "Russian dog penis." Yeah, you have to get that when it's in season. Colbert cuts the clip short, but Gupta cleverly goes on to say that there are "stiff penalties" for dealing in endangered dicks.
John Conyers' opposition to Gupta, detailed in a letter to colleagues and referencing a Paul Krugman column, stems less from dongsnacking than from Gupta's fact-challenged attack on Michael Moore's Sicko. Conyers also cited Gupta's lack of qualifications.
Dr. Gupta was born and educated in the United States. He is an outstanding neurosurgeon and a very articulate speaker about medical matters. Like President Obama, he is young, very intelligent, and a fine communicator. What more can we expect in a Surgeon General? What is this thing about penises? All I can say that like me who was born in the middle west, I guess like most of us he is circumcised.

Leave it to the democrats to mess things up for Obama. They ought to be ashamed. Some of them don't give a damn about the people's choice.

Dr. Gupta ia a neurosurgeon and they are the top of the food chain in the medical heirachy. I don't know why some one would challenge that type and length of education as being unqualified. It sounds like the green monster to me. In court cases the cirriculum Vitae (academic qualifications) of many neurosurgeon witnesses take over a page to list and that is just the things they have done to get to be a neurosurgeon. There are good and bad doctors in all disciplines, but just the amount of education required and the lenght of time it takes shows that neurosurgeons are the top of the M.D. food chain.

All of the silly Michael Moore-Sanjay Gupta feud aside, exactly what does an old burned out Congressman like John Conyers know about medicine? My guess would be nothing, unless he has an M.D. behind his name that I am not aware of. So - Michael Moore is the last word in health care, according to Conyers? I think not. Sanjay Gupta is more than qualified to be surgeon general - he is a neurosurgeon and is on faculty at a university in Atlanta, and is chief medical correspondent at CNN. I am not sure why Gupta would want to give all that up to be surgeon general, but that is his decision.

Sorry to, uh, prick your bubble, Tommy, but it sure sounded like "stud bull penis" to me. Presumably meaning a bull that still had the rest of the apparatus, as opposed to the kind that most beef comes from.
>"Russian dog penis." Yeah, you have to get that when it's in >season.
I'm guessing that's what it's called on the menu. And I'm guessing that the reason is that it's illegal in China to use Chinese dogs for food, owing to the supposed practice of stealing your neighbors' pets for the purpose. But that's several speculations on my part.
Still, this would make the second Surgeon General, appointed by consecutive Democratic Presidents, who said something about penises. Of course, if the previous Democratic President had actually *done* what his SG implied might be a good idea, as opposed to (a) firing her and (b) doing what he *did* do with his own penis, well, we might not have had to wait eight years for another Democratic President.
Michael moore is in this for his won personnel reasons, to make money off the misfortunate, and Dr Gupta is in it for the people and their health care....he would be an excellant choice.....as far as, the penis envey thingee....there are some sicko's out there
