If you think the stuff Sarah Palin said so far for John Ziegler's documentary was explosive, Ziegler says, "you ain't seen nothin' yet."
I spoke with the author/broadcaster/filmmaker over the phone this morning about his interview with the Alaska governor, excerpts of which are all over the Web and cable news networks today. In the interview, Palin hit back at Katie Couric, Tina Fey, the media and anyone else she felt wronged her during the presidential campaign and beyond. You can go to www.howobamagotelected.com to watch, or click below.
Ziegler said he's "amused" by the frenzied reaction so far to what she said, since "the best stuff is yet to come." "This is the biggest firestorm I've ever been involved with."
Palin said some "very important and interesting things – most of which have not been made public," he added.
The documentary, "Media Malpractice ... How Obama Got Elected and Palin WasSmeared," is set to be released in late February, focused on the presidential primaries, the general election, and the aftermath. Ziegler is honing in on how the media completely "assassinated" the hockey mom from Wasilla.
"The most absurd notion is that she's not smart – that's just absolutely ridiculous. A lot of the far left went even further than that and tried to indicate she was somehow nefarious," he said with a laugh. "I've interviewed more than my share of celebrities and big-time people and whatever and I have never interviewed somebody who was as gracious, as down to Earth, as un-diva like as Sarah Palin. She's either the greatest actress in the world ... or she's the genuine article."
More of my Q&A after the jump.
Q.Do you think we've seen the last of Palin on the national political stage? A. Palin said herself "that's a darn good question." From Ziegler: "But she clearly is not backing away from it. My sense is, rather than being defeated by this, I think she's resilient and wants another crack at showing who the real Sarah Palin is and basically correcting the record."
Q. What's the biggest surprise you think people will find in your film? A. "The greatest surprise about this is, the most likely conclusion people have is that Hillary Clinton's the one that got screwed more than anybody else. It's pretty clear, based upon the conditions of this particular election year – if the media has performed the normal task," Clinton would have won the Democratic primary.
Q. What's the main thing you think people should know about Barack Obama that they may not, or, are choosing not to pay attention to? A. "The thing about Obama is the narrative the media allowed to take hold. Without being at all cynical about it, his narrative of being post-partisan or a healer and a great sage ...this whole notion that he was born of a virgin under a star or something is just preposterous. I think we've seen that proven - what's happened in Chicago since the election. It's just amazing to me this guy was able to swim through the cesspool of Chicago through his whole political career and that never became an issue in the campaign."
Re: Obama's judgment: "The list of people continues to grow every day that he has endorsed or had relationships with ... he's been forced to jettison from his career or his administration ... it's really remarkable. The list of people he's had to toss aside for various reasons [i.e. Bill Richardson], almost all dealing with scandal. Yet we're all supposed to believe he's got this amazing judgment. I've not yet found a record of any major decision, tough decision, he's ever made that has worked out, other than hiring [chief campaign strategist and now senior presidential adviser] David Axelrod."
Q. You use the term "malpractice." That implies damage was inflicted. What was the damage? A. "I think there was plenty of damage done. You can argue we have a president the American people know less about than ever in our modern history. But No. 2, a brand new president has been sat. Unless there's some sort of backlash, the vast majority of the media can become the political arm of a presidential campaign." Plus, the "personal destruction" of a "good human being" (Palin) just because "she was a threat to the media's favorite candidate," he added. "If that's not a danger, I don't know what is."
Q. So what's next for you after "Media Malpractice?" A. "I'm dedicating my life to this [right now]. This is a cause I feel very very strongly about. We'll see what happens after this. A lot of people like to say I'm becoming a right-wing Michael Moore .. if that's the case, I've got a lot more facts and a lot less fat."

Thank you so much for opening this keg of worms. The main-stream-media needs airing out.

"The Governor of Illinois, for all his well-documented faults, has performed at least one valuable public service. He has made it clear to the meanest intelligence that our new President-elect emerged from a hopelessly corrupt political culture. Barack Obama oozed from the same stinking Chicago swamp that produced Blagojevich, and a man whose formative years were spent wallowing in the muck with such creatures isn't likely to be long in White House before the stench of pay-to-play politics begins to pervade the place."--David Catron, AmThinker, 01/06/09. http://rezkowatch.blogspot.com/

The people who bash Palin with questions about her intelligence do so because it's all they have. Even the Obama campaign sent over 30 lawyers and advisers to Alaska to try to dig up something on the Governor. They came up with nothing of any consequence. So they made up stuff, some of it despicable. Desperate measures by desperate people.
The gaffes and misspeaks by Obama and Biden, however, could fill a library. Obama's history is full of scandal, lies, racism, and corruption.
I don't care for Hillary, but John Ziegler is right. She was the darling of the media (except Fox), until they changed direction mid-stream and threw Hillary on the scrap heap.
Ziegler's documentary will shed a glaring light on the liberal bias of the mainstream media and their lack of journalistic integrity. I look forward to watching it. Liberals won't care, however. They can't see through their hatred for Palin and conservatism.
I thought the Democrats were supposed to be the party of tolerance of others and compassion for the weak and the downtrodden. But if you disagree with them , then the character assassinations begin. Whether or not the assassinations have any merit is immaterial to them.

Thanks John - don't stop what you are doing! Can't wait to see your documentary! The kool aid drinkers will HATE it because it will show how uneducated & uninformed they are. They are more obsessed with Oman running running Hawaii with his shirt off than researching HIS PAST & senate record, etc, his lack of experience & the MANY radical associations HE CHOSE to have in life do not seem to concern them (how scary)! Obama is phony & clearly a WOLF IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING. Children of the corn will NEVER believe anything you say - they believe the Messiah will rescue them ALL! OBAMA did NOTHING for his people in Chi-town - those poor neighborhoods are full of drugs & crime & the schools are a HOT mess! I was there in the fall of 07' I am not making these statements out of ignorance!

My main concern is how the media affected this election. The regular, average person who comes home from work turns on the nightly news has no idea who the real Obama is, and for that matter they have no idea who the real Sarah Palin is.....The msm totally manipulated this election. Scary!

How about those of you who think Ms. Palin is intelligent move to Alaska and along with her husband who believes Alaska should cecede from the US, make that happen and live under the king and queen?
As far as Obama, no one is perfect (or can you say that you are) and why not see what he can or cannot accomplish for this country? I would have afforded McCain the same respect and I think no matter who you vote for in any election, before you start spewing off vulgarities about the person, see if they perform well or not?
I personally am sick of the partisian BS in this country.

What sour grapes and rubbish. She trashed John McCain after they lost, blaming him, blaming the staff, blaming everyone except herself. That's part of the Republican mantra. "I wasn't responsible - so-and-so was" NEVER taking responsibility for their own foibles. No one took down the good old whining Pit Bull but her own foibles and lack of knowledge. Her stupidity comes from her overblown idea of who she is and her own ambitions which reach FAR beyond her abilities. SAD bunch of losers!

Fox’s Carl Cameron: Palin ‘didn’t understand that Africa was a continent.’»
Today, Fox News’ campaign reporter Carl Cameron unloaded some startling undisclosed reports of Sarah Palin’s incompetence that he had been given off-the-record on the condition they not be released until the conclusion of the campaign:
CAMERON: There was great concern in the McCain campaign that Sarah Palin lacked a degree of knowledgeability necessary to be a running mate, a vice president, and a heartbeat away from the presidency.
We are told by folks that she didn’t know what countries were in NAFTA — the North American Free Trade Agreement. That’d be Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. We’re told that she didn’t understand that Africa was a continent, rather than a series — a country just in itself. A whole host of questions that caused serious problems about her knowledgeability.
Cameron also disclosed that Palin “didn’t accept preparation” for the Katie Couric interview. http://thinkprogress.org/2008/11/05/palin-africa-continent/ Ring~*_..ring~*!+...French President Sarcozi is on the phone, Really?..must take his call from Toronto, Ontario..

Gov Sarah Palin has ran her State for the GOOD of the People of Alaska. Thats more than most of us from NY and a lot of other big cities can say. Sarah does NOT put up with corruption and thats why so many are against her. Then you have all the air heads who are so against hunting. Those of us from the city need to realize that a lot of people all across the USA need to hunt and grow their vegetables and fruit or they will have a hard time feeding their families. These same anti hunters sure as hell jumped all over Sarah because of her beliefs about abortion. Sarah like so many of us feel it should NOT be used as a means of birth control by all you smart educated college girls. You cannot have it both ways. You cannot think you are so above it all and then be so dumb that you cannot even prevent an unwanted pregnancy. NONE of us said we would change the Law.. We just ask that most of you, educate yourselves and use your birth control. As for Kennedy having more class..haha I do NOT think so money does not = class. Caroline is supposed to be so educated than why were there more than 30 " you knows in her one and only interview". I would love to know what private schools she went to. I guess its the same schools as Bush attended. As for GUMMY BEAR Katie Couric, look in the mirror and stop smiling and showing the world your mouth full of GUMS. Katie you look like a chimp. Smile with your mouth closed there is NOTHING nastier than seeing so much gum on a person when they smile. I could NEVER understand how this witch ever got anywhere on TV with that ugly mouth of hers. The republicans should have KNOWN better than to think that NBC would play fair with Gov Palin. Most of America loves you and we have good common sense and are not part of a cult who faints and carries on like teens at a girly concert like the fake girly men who fainted at Obama's staged speeches. For America I pray that most of us were wrong about Obama.

It should now be clear to intelligent people, Republican, Democrat, Independent or what ever, that Sarah Palin is nothing more than a self-serving mediocrity with a very low level of understanding. From the remarks made since her resounding defeat, this Dim Bulb has no intention of returning quietly to the nether reaches of the Alaskan wilderness. Serious Republicans (and there are some out there) will curse the name of John McCain for saddling them with Palin. Now, instead of concentrating on real issues and crafting sound strategies they will have to deal with the "fluff and non-sense" that seems to keep issuing forth from Palin. Too bad her brain is nowhere near as big as her mouth.
