Quote of the Day: "I am definitely not pro-sodomy, I promise. Scout's honor!" - Mike Huckabee
Mike Huckabee confronted Ann Coulter on his show, and despite that awkward turn of phrase, he showed clearly that she doesn't know what the frak she's talking about. He challenged her on several public statements she had made about him, including that liberals like him because he's "stupid."
Huckabee does have some stupid in him, and some liberals do like him, but that's not why. Despite some political positions that seem to belie this, Huckabee displays an appealing sense of decency that the right sometimes omits from some of its rhetoric on issues like immigration. I would point out, also, that a lot of Republicans responded to this, too.
Coulter can't back any of her statements up, instead playing the eye-rolling, chagrined wiseass. Next time, maybe she should bail on Huckabee and claim he banned her for life.
In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around.
