Joe the Plumber Attempts to Nail Israeli Reporter

    Posted:
    01/12/09
I think Joe must be watching too much "Colbert Report." He got all confrontationiacal today with an Israeli reporter, and continued to barf out his Journalism School of the Absurd. From HuffPo:
It's not clear how this philosophy jibes with this exchange, transcribed by Firedoglake, where Joe tries to force an Israeli reporter to judge whether or not the country is "bad."
JOE: The story here is people are being killed and the media's slanting it and trying to make it Hamas is, uh, as far as, that Israel's being bad. Do you believe Israel is bad?

    REPORTER: Do I believe it?

    JOE: Yeah, do you?!

    REPORTER: I'm Israeli, so...

    JOE: So answer the question!

REPORTER: No, I don't think Israel is bad.

JOE: Do you think Israel has every right to protect itself?

    REPORTER: Yeah.

    [pause]

    JOE: You do?!

    REPORTER: Yeah.

JOE: Have you said that on air?

    REPORTER: I'm just a reporter.
"Does Hamas deserve a time-out? Answer the f**king question!!!"

Oh, but it gets better. Joe's got some bang-up ideas on journalism, apparently including using word dice to compose his sentences during press conferences:

Talking to reporters in Israel, Joe went even further, suggesting that journalists shouldn't be allowed anywhere near war zones:
"I don't think journalists should be anywhere allowed war (sic). I mean, you guys report where our troops are at. You report what's happening day to day. You make a big deal out of it. I think it's asinine. You know, I liked back in World War I and World War II when you'd go to the theater and you'd see your troops on, you know, the screen and everyone would be real excited and happy for them. Now everyone's got an opinion and wants to downer-and down soldiers. You know, American soldiers or Israeli soldiers."
Maybe we should just get a bunch of people into costumes, film them, and report on that. In fact, maybe Joe ought to try and line up an exclusive interview with Cobra Commander!

Also, I hope Joe decides to take on the traitors who anywhere allowed all of those evil correspondents war. That should be really entertaining.

Do you think John McCain still considers Joe a role model?

I almost feel a little sorry for Joe. Even a third-rate publicist would have gotten him a better gig than this, and a bunch of handlers to shut him the hell up. His new employers must be loving the publicity, but I can't see Joe broadening his fan base here.

Of course, I don't feel sorry for Joe, the whiny, hypocritical, mean-spirited whiner, because he's a whiny, hypocritical, mean-spirited whiner. What I will do is hope for his safety, hope that PajamasTV's attempt to cash in on Joe's thick-headedness costs him no more than his dignity.
