The Plumber has landed. And he's pissed off at the Israelis--and the media--for being such wimps when it comes to letting Hamas bully them for so long. Via the
Jerusalem Post:
"I know if I were a citizen here, I'd be damned upset." He described himself as a "peaceloving man," but added "when someone hits me, I'm going to unload on the boy. And if the rest of the world doesn't understand that, then I'm sorry."
Yes, Joe is very sorry, indeed. And what's funny is that so many people on the right actually think this guy is already a better journalist than the war correspondents who have been living and breathing the Israeli/Palestinian conflict for years. Why? Because in their minds, average Joes always see the world in a more nuanced and accurate light than those elitist, trained journalists. Yes, as Joe informs us, the best way to
achieve objectivity on a story you cover is to go into it with your mind already made up:
"I'm angry," he said, "and that is why I came here."
So where does Joe's Hollywood script end? Will the world finally see the light, and realize that its disputes are best settled like an Average Joe in a bar-room scuffle? Oh, wait, I guess it already does, for the most part.
