Just One Term for President Obama?

He hasn't even been inaugurated yet, but some in the media are already beginning to worry that Obama won't be able to deliver on campaign rhetoric -- and will thus be a "one-termer."

Historically speaking, this is not an irrational fear.

America has not had three consecutive two-term Presidents since the feat was accomplished by Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and James Monroe (FDR, Truman and Eisenhower don't count, as Truman finished Roosevelt's first term, and did not to run for his own second term).

Just as history favored Obama's election in 2008, it favors his defeat in 2012.

But then again, anything is possible...
