I think the very fact that Ambinder's particular column is titled "Provocation of The Day" is clue enough that it isn't intended to be a prediction.

Could there be some honesty in Minnesota after all?

As I have said in other blogs, if Coleman (as the incumbent) was a good Senator and popular among Minnesota folks, he should have handily beaten the comdedian.
Yet here we are....

To David S. : Not necessarily so ... in Presidential election years many people vote a straight party ticket.

David S. Sen. Coleman got 500,000 votes from Obama voters that split the ticket. without the ACORN cheating, and other "irregularities" in voting this year Frankenstein should have won by 1 million votes. He's an incompetent loser, and cheating is his only hope! His old "friends" at SNL won't even talk to him, because he's so obnoxious. He was pretty much universally hated there as evidenced by the fact that a former head writher at SNL doesn't even get cameo roles in former cast members turned stars movies. He did, of course, save the world as STUART, a film so bad it wasn't even rated by most critics. He's not really funny, he's a cokehead, and former drug dealer, according to a behind the scenes book I read about SNL, and totally imprpoer for any government job. let alone the senate. Lets hope and pray he ends up on the outside looking in, as our country is in enough trouble already!!!

Obviously the people writing here don't even know what ACORN stands for and how they played no part in any election VOTER fraud, although there may have been some voter REGISTRATION fraud by a few workers. Voter registration fraud does not translate into voter fraud. Voter fraud is what has been put into practice by the Republicans, by stripping thousands upon thousands of people off the voter rolls in many states.
Franken still writes for SNL at times, and I heard he was behind some of the wicked good skits done this fall, which helped to ensure that McCain and Palin lost. If he's so unpopular in Minnesota, how come he just was declared the WINNER against the incumbent. Sounds like there are alot of poor losers out there.

Al Franken is a repulsive piece of trash.It's unthinkable that he should represent Minnesota in the Senate.I voted for Coleman,& if Franken is allowed to fraudulently steal this election,I'll never vote again.

Acorn?? Are you people slow? Acorn has nothing to do with fixing elections. Acorn collected unregistored voters, by law every name has to be turned over. So if someone signs up as mickey mouse, they have have to turn it over and let the feds sort it out.(who knows maybe some nut changed his name to mickey mouse.) Every election the GOP attacks Acorn because they want to limit the number of voters, the more voters the greater the chance they will lose, plus Acorn has protested the GOPs convention a couple of times. As for Franken, he is a Harvard Grad who is more then able to be in the senate. Coleman who carpet bagged from New York and switched partys is a political lightweight who has gone back on his word more times then not. Funny how republicans rant how an actor can't be in the senate, the same party that gave us Reagan and Arnie the turdinator.

Gee! You mean Franken won't be able to count those votes found in a car trunk or closet? I'm not a Colman fan, but this Franken is a total jerk. As for cjanis comment that Franken is a harvard grad, education means nothing if you cannot put into action what you have learned.

How does Acorn fix elections when all it does is register voters among the lowest income groups and pass the results, frauds noted, to the states' election committees?

That's an extraordinary claim. You have extraordinary proof to back it up, or are you just babbling?

I know exactly how the republican party fixes elections because it's now a matter of sworn justice department testimony in front of congress and has been the object of two district court Cease and Desist orders over the past twenty years, but only wingnuts think that ACORN registering poor voters who can't actually show up and vote without ID's could throw an election.

So is there some hidden conspiracy that people like John McCain who praise ACORN's work don't know and you do?

You just want republicans and you're willing to compromise anything and everything to have your way including rational though. And what for? Because of the democratic straw man that L. Rush and foxflump has made for you to loathe and fear.

That would include little tiny predatory acorns everywhere gobbling up republican votes and spitting out democratic elections.

I mean they are already bringing up changing the constitution so they can run obama for a third term, when he hasn't even taken office for a first term yet!

I feel for those who didn't vote for Franken and wish them luck, thier going to need it now that they may have to put up with someone they didn't want, nor voted for and thier rights have been so outrageously stolen from them!
