The production values of Obama's YouTube address seem to have improved from the lo-fi days when he was just president-elect. Is that an HD camera? Nice.
In his inaugural Saturday speech to the nation as president, Obama continues to sell his economic revival plan. The keywords this week are "long term." He hammers the point, most wonkishly, that the idea isn't just to prop up the economy for the time being, but to make investments that will "keep us strong and competitive in the 21st century." The plan is ambitious, to say the least. Quoting from the White House web site:
He goes into detail, noting that the plan will update our electric grid by laying more than 3,000 miles of transmission lines; weatherize 2.5 million homes; protect health insurance for more than 8 million Americans in danger of losing their coverage; secure 90 major ports; renovate 10,000 schools; and triple the number of science fellowships.Watch the speech and then tell us what you think.
