Executive Producer
Kristol's stint at the New York Times lasted only about a year.
His final column, titled with the question "Will Obama Save Liberalism?" opened with this statement, sure to strike dread into the hearts of any conservatives who are still paying any attention to anything Kristol has to say (
which they aren't) :
All good things must come to an end. Jan. 20, 2009, marked the end of a conservative era.
Interestingly, his
first column for the New York Times way back on January 7 of last year also was titled with a question.
"President Huckabee?"
Well, I can answer that question Bill, and I could have on January 7 of 2008 too. No.
I think conservatives can rest easy that Kristol's last column will prove as irrelevant as his first did. It was a fun ride, though.
Our New Approach to Comments
In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers –
a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around.
