Obama Tally: Day 9 - Lilly Ledbetter

Rod Blagojevich hogged the politics headlines most of the day, making it difficult for Obama to grab some screen time. A few news outlets are reporting Obama's tough talk on Wall Street, and his attempts to reach across the aisle in the Senate with his stimulus package, but until there's actual movement, I'm not counting that on the list.
That leaves only one major piece of news for the president today, and that was his signing of the Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which makes it easier to file discrimination law suits. Many thanks to Nan Aron of the Alliance for Justice for fully explaining the impact of the Ledbetter Fair Pay Act.
Signing this law was a campaign promise of Obama's. In fact, Lilly Ledbetter traveled with him during his campaign, so this definitely gets a check in the win column.
