My thoughts exactly. I didn't vote either. It's easy to tell who came up with this poll. The choices are either Obama is brilliant and tried to work with the Republicans or Obama is naive because the Republicans were never going to work with him. The Republicans presented an option full of tax cuts and without all the pork and Obama said, "I won." So option three would be--Was Obama foolish to not work with the Republicans to pass a stimulus that wasn't full of wasteful spending? That is the option I would have voted for.

Have to echo the other comments. Can't vote because you don't give the proper option. What concessions were offered? Zip.

what happened to the brilliant republican bank bailout?it really helped out everyone i know,oh no, wait,the greedy fatcat millionaire thiefs quickly gave themselves bonuses,crushed the small banks so now they are the only game in town.they sit pat on their foreclosures so they can write the losses off until the market recovers while not giving any loans to anyone.thats the republican spirit!my prayers are with OBAMA because unless he can help us help ourselves i'm afraid of the anarchy that may follow.we poor AMERICANS have had it with the rich few making all the rules!republicans better wake up because your ship is sailing into the tsunami you have created at the exspense of the many.

I think it had nothing to do with any of what was said. I feel these rep. do not care about the people they just want what they want. Tax cuts didn't work with Bush in office why would it work now. Get a life get on when something doesn't work try something else and learn from your past.

The facts support what davie posted. Republicans have tried tax cuts of various sorts over the last 8 years and still 95% of americans have seen their real incomes go down by $2k per year and the economy is in the crapper...The facts also support Einstien's definition of insanity ie: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result each time. Perhaps doing something different, ANYTHING different, is better than continued insanity.

Obama's actions only LOOKED bi-partisan ! Obama wanted rebublicans to sign on to his "stimulus" plan so that WHEN it tanks, he can say that they are all to blame for it's failure. Hopefully they, the House republicans, were smart enough to see that and not vote for it, which they didn't. Hell, there were even a few democrats that voted against it too. Probably the only smart dems in the House. Glad to see that not everyone "drank the Cool-aid". Obama and his apostiles are so dead set on proving themselves right that they are willing to risk our prosperity, our jobs and our financial futures to do so. If this conitunes we may never have that again. This arrogance and stupidity cannot continue, the only people who they are benefiting are themselves and NONE of us.

respond to this nonsense. I just don't believe anything Obama says
after his books, of course you didn't mention them. As far as
Jeremiah Wright, he was suppose to be teaching the word of the lord,
not the word of Jeremiah Wright. Its a know fact that Obama was
trying to build up a support base because he was planning on running
for president. So don't tell me that it took Wright 20 years to
knock the whites. He was suppose to be teaching the word of the
lord, not the hate that came out of his mouth. You have a hell of a

has never spoken badly about blacks or anyone the way that Wright
did. Yes I do believe in the lord and I do go to church. My church

white and was preached the same hate by Pat Robertson I wouldn't of

you are calling me racist. I come from up north and I went to school
and worked with blacks, never had problems with them. Your e-mail is
proving exactly what everyone was told that was going on during the
campaign. If you don't like what is being said call them a racist.

does not like white people and Barrack has written two books that
tells everyone what he thinks of people and how good he is at lying.

I guess you don’t know how to read, or are open minded because you
would have got a copy of Michelle’s theses. I myself would have
been embarrassed if any of the candidate’s white or black, wives or
husbands wrote a theses like hers if they where my choice of a
candidate. But you can bet your ass that I would of checked them out,
just as I did before I made my choice. I have never been intimidated
by anyone man, woman, white or black. I have always been a fair
person and if I am wrong I will admit it. But I always do my

I like Obama, but some of the things his stimulus plan has I think are unwise at this time. He wants help for poor folks to weatherize there homes. How do you police things like that? Fraud is likely. He wants more for food stamps. That's all well and good if more people without jobs would qualify for them. I stood behind a young woman using food stamps in a super market to buy chewing gum. I asked her about it and she said it was considered food. Gum? Though O.'s plans to help people with college are worthy, is it a priority? He is insisting on more oversight of what happens to the bailout money. Republicans under Bush balked at that. I believe Obama sincerely wants bipartisan cooperation. It will make his job easier and garner some goodwill toward Republicnas, too. However, when you have a me, me, me attitude and to hell with the country as a whole, like many Republicans and some Democrats do you can't make much progress. The Senate considers the bill next week and a conference between the houses will be necessary to work out the kinks. All of them should keep their eyes on the ball: Restore this country to a position of unrivaled prosperity and power. You have to give a little and take a little.

I would like to ask are President why he very seldom ever mentions anything about the seniors, it is always about the working people.We voted for him and do pay are taxes,and feel that seniors due represent a big part of the USA.Have not heard of any help for the seniors .Thankyou

I would like to ask are President why he never mentioned the seniors in his speech about helping all the others , like Banks, working people, which we were and paid taxes all are life, but are we forgotten?even tho we are legal citizens of the USA ??

1. Michelle Obama never said anything about "whiteys". That was a totally made up story from a supposed remark made in the background of a video tape. It was intelligible and someone (probably Fox news or Rush) made up the rest. Worked, didn't it? Got a lot of you believing it and ranting.

2. Obama has mentioned Senior Citizens many times. His plan was to give special tax exemptions to Senior Citizens. What with Republicans wanting to cut Social Security, Medicare,Medicaid,Medicare D, SSI, etc. and the financial condition of the country, and the threat to other Pensions, we will be lucky if he can hang onto these.You need to be writing your members of Congress to strengthen these not make cuts.

This question is like "Does your mother know you (anything)? You can't answer without agreeing Obama made concessions.....which he did not really.

Oh please..there were plenty of compromises in the stimulus bill and anyone who doesn't acknowledge this is obviously too ill informed to even have an opinion on this subject. Aid for state governments as well as funding for school construction were both cut by significant amounts, about $36 billion and $16 billion respectively. Additional cuts were made, in the Senate version of the bill, in aid to the poor and unemployed. The Republican ideas of a tax credit for new home buyers (which could eventually turn into a giveaway for wealthy people "flipping their houses) as well as other tax cuts that have been added.

That said, all of these compromises with the Republicans leading to a decrease in spending in the bill and an increase in tax relief has severely weakened the bill, particularly in the area of aiding states facing budget shortfalls, and once again, the Democrats have sold out the country in the name of "bipartisanship ."
