No, I don't really care about the game one way or the other. Once the Skins are out, so am I.

However, Obama made the bold move of backing the Steelers today, so if they win, should I count it as an advancement for Obama's policies?

Probably not.

Two pieces of quasi-news came out of the morning shows today. First, Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell confidently declared that he doubts the house-passed stimulus bill has a chance in the Senate. Coincidentally, Democrats started to show signs that they were willing to compromise with Republicans on certain aspects of the bill. Not such great news for Obama. Even on this first spending package in the middle of an economic crisis, the representatives of the American people are not willing to give the President the benefit of the doubt.

The second piece of news was totally shocking, and frankly kind of annoying to me, but good news for Obama. It looks like Dashcle's tax problems will likely not derail his nomination.

So one setback for team Obama, and one probable advancement. A tie day so far. Whether its a winning day or a losing day, depends on the Steelers.

(Before you start screaming about my bias...) Check out the running tally and learn more about this list here.
