Obama Tally: Day 13 - Eric Holder Confirmed as Attorney General

The day was looking pretty news free for the Obama administration for a while there. Lots of stuff about the stimulus bill not being likely to pass in it's current state, more talk of Judd Gregg for Commerce Secretary, but nothing really new.

And then, at the end of the day, Obama's controversial choice for Attorney General was confirmed 75-21 in the Senate. There were lots of questions about Holder's qualifications, including his connection to Bill Clinton's pardon of Marc Rich. Whether Rich turns out to be a good choice, we'll have to wait and see, but it's a definite win for the Obama administration.

On the other hand, it looks like Obama might have a tougher time bringing about stability in Afghanistan as it now appears to be a cesspool of waste and fraud.
