Connecticut Senators' Days May Be Numbered

Connecticut is well known for its wacky senators. Chris Dodd is the long-time holder of the Bushiest Eyebrows in the Senate Award, and has had some hilarious escapades with corrupt mortgage giant Countrywide. Joe Lieberman ... well where do we even begin? There's the time he moved to New Hampshire, the time he made out with George W. Bush, the time he said waterboarding wasn't all that bad ... the list goes on.

But we should probably cherish the days we have left with these two cut-ups, because a new poll from Quinnipiac University shows them in big danger of losing their seats.

- Dodd, a Democrat, is up for reelection in 2010. Although no certain Republican challenger has emerged, 51% of voters said that they will probably or definitely vote against Dodd.

- Lieberman, an Independent, fares even worse for his 2012 reelection bid. In a hypothetical matchup against crusading Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, the popular Democrat destroys Lieberman 58% to 30%.

If we do lose Dodd and Lieberman, the U.S. Senate will simply be a less exciting place. Harry Reid just doesn't get the trick done for us.
