What's with all the talk of States seceding? I've been hearing an awful lot of this lately. Are we really headed to a 2nd Civil War? Ryan - There have been a few stories out in the past few months about predictions out of Russia that we will split up in several Confederacies. Were that to happen, then certainly Texas could stand on their own. In theroy of course we could split without the need for a war.

In the end I can not imagine things degenerating to that level. Plus our system does have a relieft valve. If things continue to get worse and people feel that the current government can not deal with it we get a chance in 2 years to turn over the House and 1/3 of the Senate.

You may not like it, but the states like New York, Illinois, Michigan, California and New Jersey pick up the tab for your state. Based on that alone, if you did secede, it would improve the national economy by getting your state off the national welfare rolls.
