Senator Lisa Murkowski Takes a Tumble

Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) took a massive spill on an Alaskan ski slope Sunday, possibly tearing her ACL, and landing her in a wheelchair.

The ski patrol at the Alyeska Ski Resort south of Anchorage says the Alaska Republican tumbled as much as 300 feet.

A spokesman said Tuesday that Murkowski believes she tore two ligaments in her left knee during the fall Sunday.

Spokesman Mike Brumas says Murkowski also is "bruised and a little battered" and will have to use a wheelchair for several days.
