In the ongoing battle between Meghan McCain and the delightful doyennes of the right wing, conservative radio host Laur
a Ingraham has fired back at McCain's defiant declaration that Ingraham "Kiss my fat ass!"
On her website, Ingraham calls Senator John McCain's daughter a "useful idiot," (which means that as soon as Ingraham becomes useful, she can be accused of calling the kettle black) and trying to justify her crack about Meg's weight because she thinks President Obama did something similar. Got all that?
and here's the video of the interview in question. The exchange is at about the 10:30 mark, and Lauer holds up the copy of "Us" magazine to show that, in a family portrait, Obama's picture has been covered up by an inset of Jessica Simpson. The President points at the magazine and reads the headline, with obvious sarcasm. He's mocking the magazine, not Simpson.
Whatever lets Ingraham think she's off the hook is fine. The more the entertainers on the right beat up on Meghan McCain instead of listening to her, the more their marginalization is assured. At least they'll have a nice stockpile of insults to hurl at the hecklers in Branson.

"USEFUL IDIOT" WATCH...Whoah, really? Did Barack Obama really take a swipe at Jessica Simpson? I hadn't heard about that, and you know I don't play that! I mean, even if true, it doesn't absolve Ingraham at all, but what a story! I checked it out,
...Now the Left is seizing on one satirical line from our show to paint Meghan as the victim of a right-wing hate crime.
...The left's indignation in this instance is manufactured and totally phony. If any off-the-cuff remark about a woman's size was condemnable, then where was the outrage when President Obama made a passing reference to Jessica Simpson's "weight battle" during his Super Bowl interview with Matt Lauer?
