Needless to Say, Sen. Jim Bunning Has No Idea What Twitter Is

Considering that he isn't aware that you shouldn't threaten to sue your own political party or predict the death of a Supreme Court Justice, it's not really a surprise that Senator Jim Bunning (R-KY) doesn't know what Twitter is.

The social networking service is the hottest new game in DC, with folks like Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) Twittering constantly, and even John McCain getting in on the action.

But not Bunning. From The Hill ...

The Kentucky Republican, who faces a tough reelection challenge in 2010, also said that he will not be joining the latest congressional fad by starting a Twitter account.

"Explain exactly what you mean by twitter," Bunning said when asked by a reporter whether he'd be setting up an account.

Honestly, this is OK. Bunning needs to stay focused on more pressing matters than Twitter, like winning reelection and not being confined in an insane asylum.

And anyway, Bunning's MySpace page hasn't been updated for weeks.

Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.
