Having totally struck out in every court of law on every case brought to date, "hundreds of thousands" of names on petitions, righteous indignation on tens of American eagle and bunting-strewn websites about the Usurper Hussein Obama/Soetero and epic fail getting anyone except fellow lunatics to pay attention, the "Birther" (or Birfer) movement thinks its may have found it's Holy Grail to remove the scary black Muslim uncitizen from the office of POTUS.
The screaming headline across the Birfosphere reads, "At approx. 4:15 p.m. March 28th in the city of Stockbridge Ga. the people of Georgia returned an Indictment against Barack Hussein Obama!!!!!! 25 Jurists, duly sworn in, heard tesitmony and in a unanimous vote, Indicted the usurper".
The original pre-constitutional concept of a "Common Law Grand Jury" - different from the state and federal grand juries we are familiar with today that act on a requests from prosecutors- does not appear to have the official capacity to indict my left knee, however it seems as though there is some historical precedent for the concept in states like Kansas who can convene a grand jury by petition. I'll let others brighter than me in this area argue the legalities of sitting this type of jury with the expectation of an actionable indictment.
The progenitor of this proceeding (and their hope of 49 more) is one Carl Swensson, a computer shop operator from Georgia who also served as the jury foreman. He is being assisted by Dr. Orly Taitz, Esq. who also is assisting with Alan Keyes' recent Usurper-ridding activities. I covered Keyes and Taitz on this issue in some detail here.
Swensson's (and other's) inspiration for the Common Law Grand Jury seems to come from Leo Donofrio, one of the more literate of the Birthers, and author of his own failed Obama "natural born citizen" lawsuit. Their charter appears to be cribbed from here. When one wonders where the jury was culled from, look no further than the birfer blogs, Free Republic, and most disturbingly, the website of white supremacist Hal Turner. (Note: I will not link to Turner himself. If you need verification, google him, find his website and look at the 3/9 posts).
Apparently these indictments have now been served to all manner of Georgia State agencies.
Next up: Attorney Stephen Pigeon's National Grand Jury (not to be confused by the above) and why he thinks he's being followed by Homeland Security.
(h/t Patricia from Politijab.com for some clarification of Common Law Grand Juries)
Dr. Orly, Esq. Goes to Washington
Thanks to Mrs. Polly!
