Michael Moore Collects Intel, Bird Poo, on Capitol Hill

Last month, Oscar-winning filmmaker Michael Moore announced that his next film will target Wall Street, and that he was looking for a few good whistleblowers. This week, he was on Capitol Hill looking to nail down some quotes from lawkmakers. In the process, he found not stool pigeons, but rather pigeon...well, you get it. From HuffPo:

Documentary filmmaker Michael Moore has spent the last two days on Capitol Hill buttonholing members of Congress and quizzing them on their banking-sector bailout votes.

"All the usual suspects have dodged us, but I'm moving a little faster these days so we were able to catch up with some of them," said Moore in an interview with the Huffington Post.

...In the middle of an interview with Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) on Tuesday, a bird above Moore relieved itself on the filmmaker's shoulder. He brushed it off his jacket with the help of an aide. "Congressman Boehner is up in the tree," Moore speculated of the Republican minority leader from Ohio. (He wasn't.)

I can't wait for the Newsbusters headline, "Moore Hallucinates on Capitol Hill, Sees Boehner in Tree."

Moore's ornithological adventure may give politicians like Boehner a chuckle now, but I'm betting Moore will have the last laugh. His last film, Sicko,showed a mastery and maturity of form over previous work, and helped to show the political establishment that America was ready for universal health care. Whatever he uncovers here, the public is certainly ready to eat it up.
